Amazing!! Considering purchasing either this or Lumix S5, both of which have non-existent AF-C. I was wondering if its easy to focus manually for these shots? Do you set the focus at infinity most of the time, since your footage is so accurately focused.

  • @alexcormier97

Thanks a lot! Manual focus is something that requires a lot of practice, but once you get the hang of it, a lot of us actually much prefer focusing manually.. It has changed how I shoot significantly, but no, I do not set my focus to infinity all the time.. You can use focus peaking, to make sure you're in focus.. Hope this helps!

@@z4yn165 Awesome! Yeah, I strongly recommend Simmod.. Most adapters out there often use extra glass which deteriorates the image quite a bit when shooting wide open.. Converting a lens gives you a way better result, and companies like simmod takes the flange distance into consideration in their design, and includes shims, which allows you to focus to infinity, which is often a problem with adapters!

Wow. I watch a lot of videos on cinematic shorts on facebook. Sometimes it's good and sometimes bad. Most of the time I tent to find something interresting with the video, for example the scene, the light, the music, the filming technique or the grading. Occasionally these criterias will be combined - and that makes me really happy (inside). Watching this reel makes me brathless. Yes, its absolutely true. I should be working now, but I'm obviously not. The scenes, the contrasts, the perspectives, the music and the combination of it all is stunning. (I thing the bicycle scene is my favourite). But the grading - IT IS SENSATIONAL!!! How do you do it??! Anyway. I checkt a few more of your videos. The one with your father. The one from New York. Same thing. Everything is so good - and the grading is beyond perfect!!! How do you do it? Because I want to (need to, desire the ability to be able to) do excactly the same. And yes. I subscribe🙂
