You say that games that access the VDP crash. I have one of those HC-95, and I remember it having some setup parameters that you can change to add extra WAIT cycles for a number of different things. Have you tried that?

follow the msx.org thread. This version of the board is not compatible with all MSX. you need the second transistor for the INT line. Version 2.0b is the current one. If you can mod the board you can add the transistor and use the same code as version 1.02. More info on the thread

Honestly, that's low-key brilliant. Instead of risking the stratagem bouncing off the ground some random direction, you can stick it to your friend and have them park it exactly where you want it. (btw, just drop the backpack shield and you can walk away)

this video is not about 9958.This is a Sega SMS VDP. The other video is 9958 and no, its not accurate I just got it from the OCM which is not accurate and has sprites / split screen issues.

This is very exciting considering the rising costs of V9958's. ($40-$70 on eBay, last time I checked!) I think I'll try to make use of this in my Pugputer 6309 project. Since there's no worries about compatibility in this case, maybe I can learn how to implement some enhanced features.

Hi, congratulations on the project, I used the PCBs of version 1 for the FW of version 2, I inserted the a/d converter, but I noticed the audio level was too low with the ti-99/4a. I took the audio output of the ti 99 directly after the 100 uf decoupling capacitor.

I have one of these version 2.0 that I bought preassembled and never used, I'm trying to use it now and I can't get it to output anything to any of my VGA monitors. It's difficult to ascertain whether it is alive at all. The LEDs operate differently depending on whether I have input going in the CGA port. But I haven't been able to get any VGA signal out of it regardless of whether the CGA is plugged into anything or how the dip switches are set. Is there supposed to be an OSD? Is there any documentation anywhere for this aside from the source code on github? It would be helpful just to know what the buttons are supposed to do if it's working and what the LEDs mean, so that I could tell for a start whether it's been properly programmed or is just a blank device.

vc precisa usar algo como 5.4v, eu uso uma fonte que tem o ajuste do 5V, ela tambem ja proporciona os 12v necessarios.

which version 2 ? 9918 or 9958 ? Try the 9918 first. With the usb-c cable and an hdmi connector you should see the video, unless your monitor does not accept it. Try other TV just for the sake of it.

it does not run "Cores" it is just implementing a SMS VDP plus other things. SofaRun runs SMS games through a cartridge called Franky or Playsoniq so I am just mimicking these carts

Sure you can add a NES video chip but then you need to add a 6502 and all the logic behind and develop the software to load from the MSX to run on it.
