    Its a really good machine for 80's I think! I have an 81 suzuki and this thing is lightyears beyond it, even pretty good compared to modern stuff imho. The engine is a real master piece, brakes are good and linear, seat is a Gem, riding position reasonable, I think they look really great still! you can see the evolution of bikes from early to late 80's, huge leaps forward in design and function, the GPX is the perfect example of getting it right!

    Hey man...2020 ford explorer APIM issues. After every car restart, it loses its memory and goes to am/fm instead of the previous xm/sirius channel. The screen locks up/goes blank/has to be reset constantly. Ive used forscan many times on my f150...do you think reprogramming the apim on this 2020 explorer will be worthwhile? Or is the APIM toast lol? Thanks! Love your videos btw!

    Hey there! thanks for the kind words! I had a look and it looks like a pretty widespread issue on sync 3, which is kind of incredible to me given how many issues they had with the earlier version. I read that there is an update to Sync3 that should fix the issue, or you can jailbreak the system and set it up manualyl, check out this thread on reddit for more info, best of luck fixing it, I would be outraged personally on such a new vehicle! www.reddit.com/r/f150/comments/129nty5/2019_f150_sync_3_partially_resets_every_time/

    Hey there! Everything runs through the crazy wiring on the left side of the headlight assembly. It really only has I think the 1 fuse and everything is routed in blocks of similar 12v, its totally wierd and unlike more modern stuff. Mine has a few 12v+ that are dead on the power board, once you get the plastics off the front, you'll be able to trace the wires and figure out what isn't supplying power. Look out for vampire splices etc. Mine had a few to try and bypass the rwd speed limiter and 4wd lock from the transmission shift lever. The only real issue is the transmission lever is tough to setup just right, if yours works easily H\L\R then really anything else you have to fix is no problem! mine also since needed new brake lines as the rubber ones kept collapsing and locking up the calipers. They're a great machine, just need proper maintain and staying on top of it all.

    @@dscanadianoutdoors3257 You'll find it! its just a whole lot of places for 12+ to plug into, like a power bar really, it looks crazy though right? like did they really design this from the factory like this? The Sportsman imho is the best looking color scheme of this era, they really are comparable to any mid size ATV of the modern era IMHO, just need to replace the parts it needs to be reliable, check your chain tension as well, all of them. Its not too hard to do, but is very important, and make sure they are all lubed. You can buy stainless steel front brake lines now on Ebay for not much money, if you have the whole front end apart, might be a good time to do them if they're original, my front right caliper kept locking up, now my rear caliper is. Anywho, if you have any Q's let me know! not much I haven't done on this machine at this point! happy riding!

    I replaced the knuckle and wheel bearing when doing mine, so I got away with doing this to get the ball joint out: Wrap a chain around the control arm and the bottom of a floor jack. Put the jack pushing on the hub. Give the jack a bunch of pumps, eventually the ball joint end violently springs out of the knuckle.

  • @Kingsoupturbo
    @Kingsoupturbo2 ай бұрын

    Hey there, sorry for the bad luck, I had heard the 4.6 didn't even really have the issue! Thats a good question, is the threaded insert still in there? did the new threads cut into the aluminum to put in the insert, did they blow right out? in theory if the aluminum is blown out, mmmm, need an even larger size to tap for a new insert, Apparently there is a kit called the time-sert big-sert, which is for a 2nd blow out. I eventually had a threaded insert I had put in too deeply fall into the cylinder and break a valve, had to change the head, which is a huge job, and I've done lots of motors. Check out the Big-sert, hopefully the solution you need to keep her on the road, new trucks are outrageously expensive, so still worth it!

    hi there. i just got a new 240 EXP and it is binding somehow when coasting. if i stop pedaling (on a stand) it will engage in frewheel for a while and in low rotation it will slack the chain and keep pedaling itself. its a brand new wheel, any idea what could be? thanks

  • @Kingsoupturbo
    @Kingsoupturbo3 ай бұрын

    Hey there, mine does that sometimes as well, when I stop pedaling it takes a little bit to disengage, the brand new 350 on my fat bike doesn't do that as much though. It might have something to do with the grease, it takes a certain temperature to turn the grease into oil, which is probably when it won't have any of those symptoms anymore. I'd try and ride it a bit more, get some heat into it and see if it still acts up. It might need more lube or lighter lube if binding. Usually all the DT stuff I've gotten is the best quality though, I've had new pedals that bind as well until they get broken in, this might be the case on the DT hub, I can't remember the other brand new hubs I've gotten if that is a common symptom. Hopefully it clears up, I'm a huge fan of DT and how bulletproof they are under big torque loads, and cost effective (especially if you buy from Germany) thanks for watching!
