    I recently picked up a 2003 TT600 with 5700m - love your review. I'm equally excited about owning one of these. I plan to wheel it into my cellar for the Winter, pull the shrouds off, and get familiar with it. Like Slodsworth, I'm no Spring chicken so my rides won't be any great distance. And Travis, I was really surprised when my wife said OK - must be because it's a Triumph and we used to ride together as teenagers on my '68 Bonnie. Thanks to ElyxeD for the lead on parts - I'll check them out. We should set up a TT600 owners group.

    Hey there! that sounds fun as a winter project! the stator wiring direct to battery mod is an important one, bleed the brakes, its pretty well made! I'd consider getting a riser bar conversion if you want a bit more comfort, well a lot more comfort. If I get another one, I'll do that, its a bit aggresive in the position for my poor back, the pegs are decently high as well, they make drop pegs for it no problems. Its really exciting to ride though, and the brakes\suspension are so powerful and well sorted! The TT600 group on facebook is really good, lots of nice people, interesting info, check it out! thanks for watching and enjoy!

    @@henrydrew Hey there ,Triumph RAT forums has good info on the stator wiring, I actually made a video on how to do it on the TT600, since you reminded me I'll upload it ASAP! There are a few places in the UK that make specific riser block adapters to run a wider more upright bar as well since the Speed 4 parts are a little tricky to find, if you're so inclined! if I get another one, it'll be something I do, man are they exciting to ride!

    Thanks very much!! I really like the color as well! I've had it out riding a bunch since march, most of the gravel is not a problem on the main roads, you just have to take it easy on the very small side streets!

    Check out the triumph tt600 facebook group, they are very helpful and often have part outs and sources for plastics, which as you might imagine, are quite difficult to obtain. thanks for watching, its a SUPER fun bike, even as a streetfighter if you can't find the pricey plastics, it would be really good.

    I'm looking to buy a 2002 TT 600, is it normal for these bikes to have a louder engine mechanical noise than their japanese counterparts? It can be heard on idle, sounds similar to my older pushrod bikes. Starts and runs just fine, only has that louder engine sound.

  • @Kingsoupturbo

    @Kingsoupturbo

    2 жыл бұрын

    Mine was a little bit loud, but that was the exhaust really compared to my 750 ninja, overall it was a louder engine then the 750 and 650 ninja's, really hard to tell from a video how it should sound. If you have doubt, pay the bit of extra money to have it inspected at a motorcycle place, if that thing has internal damage, you'll be glad you did. Good luck on your purchase! its a very fun to ride exciting bike, but its not so comfortable for any distance.

    Hi there. Did you do any remapping to the bike? Mine is a 03 model and seems to have a flatspot around 3 to 4.5k rpm.

  • @Kingsoupturbo

    @Kingsoupturbo

    Жыл бұрын

    I didn't remap, you need a specific cable to interface with the French fuel injection to see what version is on it. What I read was that almost all bikes that went back to the dealer even once for the recall had the remap done. To be fair the bike doesn't really have much pull below 4000, but its probably worth checking your version to be sure. You can download the software for free and the cable is relativly inexpensive as I remember. The facebook group for the TT600 is very useful for this, thanks for watching!

    @@Kingsoupturbo I agree. I'm gonna change filters then bite the bullet and spend some money on a dyno tune and make sure the mapping is optimised. Managed to pick up a very clean 03 TT for cheap. I got lucky. The guy I bought it off was a retiree who was giving up riding due to health reasons and just wanted it gone. Just running a little rough from sitting around and probably old fuel. Mines only got only 35ks on the clock. I've seen them up over 100k so as long as you take care of it, it should last alright. I plan on keeping this one for a while.

    @@jf9979 Nice! well check all the usual stuff, the charging system especially, make sure thats all working before checking the Map. I think the program is TuneECU and the Sagem program cable is pretty cheap online, then you can see what map version you have, I'd bet its the newer one. The high peg position is a bit uncomfortable for any distance, but shes a real sweet machine! enjoy!

    That sounds pretty low price! Triumph is one of the oldest motorcycle manufacturers on the planet, in my experience this thing is very high quality, I think its a great motorcycle, its just not suited for long trips. Just make sure the charging system works, check for oil leaks, oil level, all the usual stuff, worn chain, worn tires, leaking fork seals. They are lower priced then Yamaha's etc. for some reason, I have no idea. Best of luck!

    @@Blake_srt4 Always look at a few different bikes, Tires alone add up quickly, check the date code on them, tread depth, chain condition, sprockets, leaky seals, dented tanks, busted plastics, etc. You might find a mint SV650\Ninja 650R etc for the same money in better shape, also consider what you want to do with a bike, this thing has high pegs for lots of cornering clearnace and lower bars, if you're not going to be riding fast around corners just heading to the shops and booting around town, something with higher bars and lower pegs might be the ticket for you. thanks for watching!

I'm a fairly competent auto mechanic, but I've just never worked on a motorcycle this is my first one, so I'm going to do everything oil, coolant flush, spark plugs, chain and sprocket like I said I just don't see many maintenance videos on these tt600s
