I just replaced one today. Vehicle was 17 years old. The clip broke off as it had no spring and I had to pry it so hard I was afraid I might break something. But it eventually came off.

Thanks for the video! I had trouble getting the old one off. I was afraid that I would break my radiator if I pried it too hard. I sprayed PB Blaster in the slots on either side and worked it around. That helped a lot and it came right off after that. I got the idea for the PB Blaster from another KZread video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oJ-sqLafZ7Cyk7A.html

Sir.. I owe you a beer and dinner. You saved me $300 by not replacing the whole radiator. And I take back all the bad words I said about a sucking design... that was before I knew you could replace this part only. Keep them coming!

I just want to point out most of the videos on this subject don't mention how important torque specs are on this part. If it isn't torqued properly it will leak like mad... 18ft pounds on the bolts, you will be good with 20. Start on the center bolt then the other one on the other side of the oil ports and then move to the others. Happy wrenching.

Hey bro so I took the side mirrors with the turn signals on them off of a 2008 lariat & put them on a regular 2006 f150 & the turn signals don’t light up at all. I did notice that the ones I put on were orange on the signals but on the old ones the left one only had the signal but it was clear. Just wondering how I can make the turn signals work

1st thing, I'm not going to recommend what tools to use, you might not have these or you might have a preference.. metric, American, impact, drill etc.. if you're do for an oil change, you might as well drain your oil and remove the oil filter (oil filter will need to be removed anyways) if the oil is good, just drain a few quarts or until nothing shows on dipstick.. also ,go ahead and unplug the sensor to the adapter housing and make sure that sensor contact is clean and dry before reconnect.. Use a deep pan that will fit under your Truck work room area for your Antifreeze coolant, if The coolant still looks clean, strain it through a clean rag and reuse it when you are done with the install... Quicker way to drain the coolant is remove tire and tire well guard, unclamp and drain the large radiator hose from bottom of radiator.. give it time to empty, unclamp Large hose from adapter housing and drain what is left from the Adapter and upper engine itself in a separate pan (you might still get a fluid mixture here).. One bolt will be easy to access through the open wheel well area, also these Will give you easier access if the mating surface needs prepping (old gasket sticking or pieced stuck on or rusting and or pitted mating surface).. The other 3 bolts can be removed from beneath the vehicle.. Good luck..

Thanks for the vid - you saved me mucho bucks - my repair guy thought this part was part of the radiator & said I'd need to replace the whole thing! Your camera work made it easy to follow. I found using a medium sized flat head screwdriver between the part and the radiator connector and twisting it left and right helped loosen the part slowly without breaking anything.

Holy crapola this is way more complex than I thought it was. Last week I headed out to pick and pull for two mirrors for my 2004 ford and all I brought was a drill and my screwdrivers. I was turned away because I had my four year old son with me. I was mad. But I am less mad today because I wouldn’t have been able to remove them anyway. So from me to you, THANKS. You make it seem like I will still be able to achieve this by myself; I was just unaware that you had to go through the door- makes sense tho. Happy spring and thanks again, my dood ✌️

Great vid, was a big help. I just installed the same mirrors on my 08 f150, was very excited to find out both blinkers and puddle lights worked. Not sure why the stock mirrors only had the turn signal on the passenger mirror when both were wired from the factory. Thanks again for your vid!! 💀👍🏻
