I like it ends with us on the fact that a lot of people are questioning Ryle's actions from the beginning, it's good that we're questioning what abuse is and why we romanticize those behaviors. Someone healthy, from chapter one it says, that man is a red flag. People who don't may be questioning it now with all the comments.

It’s funny, but I have just DNF 100 years of solitude…interesting how a book can be adored or hated at the same time…anyway, for me Tomorrow, tomorrow and tomorrow is an amazing book (I cried a lot), Legends and Lattes was just ok, nothing special. And Never let me go and Normal people were quite good. As an idea…what about ranking the 5 stars books of the past five years?

Prefaces: I don't own an ereader. I know Amazon isn't the best company out there. I wanted to provide my thoughts on a less expensive option for annotating. I use the Kindle app to read most of my books; it's free and compatible with a lot of formats. I get a lot through my library's Libby app and since I don't own the books, read a lot, and can't normally get it back right away, I use Notion to organize and store my notes outside the book. I've created a four-color highlight system I use throughout all my books to simplify my annotations. I don't have a way to annotate directly on the text, but I can add typed notes as needed. Personally, I find notes most helpful to use with workbooks I've borrowed. You can also bookmark the pages as you see fit. Before I return the book, I export my notes to Notion. Some publishers set a limit on how much of a book you can export of the actual text, but the chapter, page, highlight color, and notes are all included in the export.

I have a Kindle Paperwhite. I go through and highlight during the first read, like you do. Paperwhite is black and white, so no color options. There are note options though when you highlight something. However, once I've read what I need to read, I can pull up the Kindle desktop app or the Kindle mobile app on my phone to change colors and add more/better notes. Also, from these apps, I can copy and past information over to my Notion database. I may use all or some of these options, depending on what I'm reading and why. Thanks again for a useful video, Elizabeth. Now I'm itching for an upgrade with a stylus and colors.

Just a quick note of thanks for this video! I love rereading my favorites, but had never developed an annotation style of my own. Definitely keeping this in mind. Until this, I would sometimes reread and straight up take notes in a separate notebook through the entire text. The Bullet Journal Method, for example, was a great choice for this since I didn’t own my own copy. Having a dedicated set of notes to reference has been helpful, but that technique is overkill for other sorts of books. Off to look through my Tombow brush pens for useful colors. Love it when I can combine multiple hobbies!

I am a bit of a sucker for contemporary romance, or feelgood, as we call it here in swedish a lot of the times. I loved Happy place and gave it 4 stars. I finished reading it just 8 days ago so it is still rather fresh in my memory. I did NOT like the love story or the gummy bear insidence, but I loved the friendships and thought they were relatable and I felt like the group grew a bit and their communcations skills got there by the end of the book. I agree that the author didn't describe the location that well, i too had a hard time picturing it and for a happy place it felt a bit meh. I wish that part had been better but I appreaciate the story around the house and how the group came here each year. And as someone who has owned a vacation home and only went there annually or biannually though loving it, I can see how the place itself can become... neglected in a story, BUT the vibes of it should have been stronger, the happy place-vibes.

The Fonz was an icon. I had to watch Happy days because my (20 yrs) older sinlings loved him and I wanted to keep up with the conversation even though I was so much younger. 😄 I read Britneys book recently, and as someone whos first language isn't english, I enjoyed how it was written. It was very easy to read and understand and I got the feeling that it was supposed to be that way, it was like even the writing had a bit of naive energy that reflects Britney (I follow her on social media). It also made me feel like maybe her traget audience is NOT university educated people but the common person. Maybe if I read a translated version I would feel differently, or if english was my first language. But, and don't hate me, the language felt very true to a lot of europeans (or at least scandinavians) views on southern americans. I also read Elliot Pages book and Spare by prince Harry in this category, Elliots was well written and I loved it. Maybe a bit bias because I am trans as well though. I only got through half of Spare because there was way too much detail during his time as a soldier, he could have shortened those chapters. More than half way through I realised he was no where near meeting his wife yet and I gave up.

When I started annotating my first book, I didn’t have tabs so I used different colors of pen instead to mean different things. I also folded my sticky notes to help fit in one section of the book better or to make it cover up less of the page. These are just some things I did! Your video definitely helped me a lot with annotating my books. Thank you!😊

Do you have any recommendations as to how to deal with that? My problem is that I keep copying the task list week after week because many of these things don’t depend on me. Thank you for this great video!
When I started annotating my first book, I didn’t have tabs so I used different colors of pen instead to mean different things. I also folded my sticky notes to help fit in one section of the book better or to make it cover up less of the page. These are just some things I did! Your video definitely helped me a lot with annotating my books. Thank you!😊
I just bought a new kindle last year!!! Oh why didn't I wait 😭I hate annotating on the kindle, especially for non-kindle store books. I kinda switched to using the ipad and apple pencil, but it's certainly not as easy on the eyes, and you need a pdf to directly write on the document.
Wow, as I have been preparing to make my own reading journal, this video has been such a great help! Plus, you taught me some things in Canva I didn't know how to do yet. Thanks so much, I appreciate you!
Love this! Thanks so much ❤
