I love this spread idea and discussion! I maintain my bracket throughout the year and reevaluate at the end. Also- I sometimes choose 4 star reads as my winner because I loved them even if I can tell they’re flawed

I agree with not being stringent about choosing one book per month in yearly brackets. I pick top twelve overall & work down from there. You were the one to introduce this spread, & it’s definitely among my favorite part of my bullet/reading journal! My top read for 2023 was Cloud Cuckoo Land (also recommended by you!)

I love this spread and have added it to my reading journal for the last couple years. I do find that last year I changed the pairs to mix it up Jan v. Jul, Feb v Aug, Mar v sep, Apr v Oct, May v Nov, and Jun v Dec.
