Aight I just replaced my starter but I’m just getting a single click but no start. I had the old starter tested and they said it’s bad and they said by battery is good but needs a charge. I tried jumping it before i tested it however but it still wouldn’t start, so I don’t see that making much of a difference. I feel like it could be my alternator cuz that’s the only thing not new but or tested in about a month but still I’m not sure… any help is greatly appreciated

Pretty good video but so you don’t have to risk damaging your filter try one of the frame top-of-the-line filters in mobile one high mileage 10 W 30 or the extended life 5W-30 high mileage and if you buy it at Walmart, it’s significantly cheaper than the regular auto parts store and of course change your cabin filter every six months

I think my selenoid is bad. So i got a no crank no start. I needed a booster to get car started. Got it to start but car lasted I only 2 days and then did the same thing. I charged battery i case it was battery. Started no crank no start. Did it again and it took 10 seconds turnover before it started. So i dont think its the starter or it wont even turn but the selenoid going bad is not popping out coukd cause it to not turn sometimes or not turn most times? From spinning and cranking? I got a code for cam shaft position sensor, which I read eventually causes no start but it doesnt say if its a no turn no start or of its a turn but no start. Alternator hasnt died or the car would lose power and turn off or just not turn and or crank at all. Other suggestions anyone? let me know please. I dont want to buy new starter and alternator just to find out issue continues. It may be ignition switch or something similar? Not sure

I just did this same work on a machine that sat for a few years and didn't get routine maintenance due to the former owners' health. It was all he could do just to ride the thing let alone take care of it. At one point the multiple hoses/tubing didn't make sense how it came apart. Watched your video and found the difference which seemed to make sense to me. Long story short, my deceased BnL's 660 fired right up and will be put back into service and fun. Thanks for the very well-done and useful video.

If you purchased a new starter it already has a new solenoid on the housing. You may have a crack shaft sensor or a cam shaft sensor going bad.

You did not describe how to check and then set the spark plug gap to specification. Always check the plug gap beofre installation - especially on 'pre-gapped' spark plugs.

So the first starter doesn’t spin through the solenoid. Test the starter alone by applying power to it through the lower post of the solenoid that has a wire directly connected to the starter and negative cable same to the body of the starter. If the starter suddenly spins, then the problem is with the contacts inside the solenoid.

Got a question for ya I bought a 2004 grizzly 660 brand new 19 years ago off the showroom floor. Basically I’ve always kept everything OEM. I’ve taken my car bro part a few times over the 20 years just to clean the Jets or replace replace fuel, bowl, gaskets etc. etc.. during the process I have replaced my throttle cable several times over these almost 20 years and I realize there is an adjustment upfront where your actual thumb throttle is and then I realize there’s an axle adjustment that controls your butterfly. Do remember how many revolutions you turned your lock nut. So basically, when you go to remove your throttle cable, you back off your lock nut and then you turn your adjustment screw up the threads to create slack so you can disconnect your throttle cable from your carburetor/butterfly spring and then of course once you get enough slack, you disconnect it and then you do something very similar up on the handlebars to get it disconnected from your thumb throttle. My question is when you replace it with a new OEM throttle. You stick it into the carburetor and install it to the butterfly spring. I forgot how many revolutions you turn your adjustment screw and your lock nut screw on the threads and then of course you do something very similar up on your handlebars to connect the other end of the throttle cable to your thumb throttle. My question is I’ve forgot I know it kind of sits in the middle somewhere your lock nut and your throttle adjustment cable that goes to the butterfly on the carb but I can’t remember. So in Laymans terms, if you can remember, let’s just say we screw the lock nut all the way back up against the carburetor, and then we screw the adjuster all the way up until it stops up against the carburetor. Do you know how many revolutions I turn the adjuster back? And then of course, I will bring the lock nut forward to hold the adjuster in place and then I can install it to the handlebar for the thumb throttle??? Dealing with the idle adjustment screw is something I’m not concerned about because I and anyone else knows exactly how that works. I’ve just forgotten where to set my adjuster for my butterfly and I have a manual, but it doesn’t tell me I actually have a climber Manuel for that bike. So if you can tell me the correct setting or anybody else that might know the correct setting of the throttle cable after you install and hook it to the carburetor it might be six or seven or eight revolutions out. I’m not sure but I want to get it set properly and then use the lock nut and lock it in, like I said earlier, the top part for the thumb throttle is easy but honestly what I’ve been doing since I forgot the correct, setting to the butterfly control I’ve just spun the lock not all the way back till it ran out of threads and I screwed and the adjuster all the way in until that basically wouldn’t go any further And then just picked up the slack up top by the thumb throttle so I just need the correct setting for the lock nut and the adjuster on the carburetor butterfly control!!! Thanks man so if you can basically just explain it by Al back my lock not all the way off until it has no more room and then I’ll screw the adjuster all the way in till it stops and then you can give me the rotations for the adjuster and then I’ll just bring the lock night up and get a small wrench on the lock nut and a small open and ranch on the adjuster and tighten them towards each other!!!!! Thanks man appreciate it or anybody else that may know I am dealing with an Yamaha OEM throttle cable, just in case someone has a motion, pro or an aftermarket. I do realize that the originals are a little shorter. However, I’ve never had a problem with mine revving louder when I turn my steering to the left or right, I really truly try to keep everything in OEM. Thanks again.
