  If a laptop defaults to the internal screen during boot, it can usually be forced to use the external display by booting with the lid closed. Of course one has to use an external mouse and keyboard in such case.

  Just did this to a free chromebook a friend gave me. Honestly they arent bad computers. Chrome OS just sucks so much. With ubuntu (I know i know, but i like it) it runs surprisingly well.

  I put linux on mine as here in the UK the govt now has a right to snoop and track your internet activity , Linux is the only way you can anonymously browse still
