    Getting ready to have 2 maybe 3 PW2s installed to our existing Enphase PV system with 31 IQ8A micro Inverters feeding an Enphase 4C Combiner box (I opted to get the cell card as backup to my Wi-Fi. Being able to see each individual panel's performance in real-time is genius. One offers a MICRO view down to each inverter while the other offers a MACRO view. Being able to monitor over $80K worth of solar gear like that is priceless. Question, can you tell us if there is a way to see when they were manufactured? Is that date on the PW itself or maybe the label on the box? All the credits are now available regardless of when you install ESS. I'm getting 3 PW2s for less than a 24kWh GENRAC generator.

    excellent video, just placed my order for solar, waiting to hear back for PW3. One cool thing you could do to not pull from the grid (which I'm sure you've probably tried already) is reduce the cars down to like 16-20a within the app. make pulling 0 from the grid :) one thing I'm looking forward to doing.

    @@ModernArtisan Cool. I have a tall crawlspace I want to convert to a little theater room but i'm worried about Radon. We just bought the house and it was 0.9 average and 2.8 max during the inspection. I don't know if they tested the crawl space though. I'll have to look into it again when/if we decide to do the conversion.

    I was losing my mind trying to find a flush trim router bit with a small enough bearing to fit inside a 1/4" rabbet to cut the melamine. Thanks for demonstrating that this should be done on a routing table with a standard router bit.

    Since you have the vacuum pump you should get a vacuum chamber. Then you can get all the bubbles out of the Epoxy. then you will get glass like effect. For surface bubbles you probably know a blow torch is used.

    Have you instead of pocketing the whole white area, pocket out the individual white areas but 1/4 inch oversized, then doing the pour? Then you can run the green path like you're already doing, and you'll waste so much less white epoxy, and cut down on your milling time significantly

    I was looking through your content and we do very similar type jobs. Very niche market. I'm going to start building a few new construction kitchens for the first time and will be using sheets of that new laminate stuff every is using now. No cnc. Hopefully I can layout it out properly. Also doing the design in Prokitchen software. Any tips I'm all ears.

  • @ModernArtisan

    I can track it in the Tesla to a certain extend, but because I have Enphase micro inverters I can track very detailed info through my enphase account online-very detailed, even by specific panels. Ultimately the utility tells me too

    I bought the Fastcap best fence system for my Makita Miter saw in my home shop and WOULD NOT buy it again. The problem I have encountered is that the fence stop DOES NOT work, no matter how I work with it, no matter how I adjust it, it will hold in place., and I see a glaring fault in its design to grab onto the aluminum fence. This means that the fence stop is prone to being jarred out of place and to me, this makes the Miter Fence stop useless since I cannot rely on it to make repeated cuts. I have emailed a photograph to the manufacturer and have received a LACKLUSTER reply. I will be looking for a different solution with other makers.

Did you cut those dados wider to account for the laminate or keep the laminate short of the edges that go into the dados. Either way seems tricky, would love to know how you solved it. Thanks!

  • @andrewcrawley4429
    @andrewcrawley44299 ай бұрын

    If you think that this machine is amazing right now, look into Mozaik software for cabinet making. That will turn it into a cabinet making animal. There is nothing you can’t design and do within the cabinet world with that software and usually within a few hours, start to finished assembly. The cnc routers are the only way to make cabinets these days, hand made is always going to be a way, but there is no way it can even get close to the cost of manufacturing with a concrete. I also bought a Laguna SS2 this year and it is an amazing machine. Good luck with your new toy.

    What's the downside to *not* sanding that rough side smooth? It looks like a lot of work (particularly without a planer), and it seems like you could just put that side on the outward-facing end.

    @@ModernArtisan - Is it even that much nicer though? I noticed a local taco shop had a horizontal screen around their dumpsters so I went to get a look at how they did the screen, and I actually had to get pretty close to notice that they'd used pickets rather than boards. Nobody is getting that close to the other side of your deck. But I think with it louvred, people ON the deck may be able to see a bit of the other side?
