    Hands down, when I've played this level specifically, it has been relatively hardest mission so far when chronologically playing. The need of completing monuments, while you have gem extorting armies threatening the safety of your city, while you need your army elsewhere to establish ties and trade routes to help raise population grids and sustain more work. Quite a juggle and likely a test of will between rookies and pros.

    I didn't forget dune 2, I've played dune 2 and covered the dune series quite a bit on this channel. It's just when games come to copying, C&C was the baseline and that's basically dune 2 because it was a dune 2 reskin by Westwood and got way more popular.

    Why does every person making youtube videos think we want to see their face? I'm here to see the game, NOT YOUR FACE.

  • @GamerZakh
    @GamerZakh5 сағат бұрын

    Because people want to see the face. It's pretty clear why we do it, because people like it. Personally it's 3 factors: 1. For the majority of viewers, they prefer seeing the streamer and statistically people watch for longer when there is a facecam. 2. Having a camera means I can visually communicate things like with facial expressions and hand gestures. Think of a teacher in a classroom, is the teacher just in the way of the blackboard or is the teacher part of the content? 3. Representation matters and Eurasians/mixed race don't get a lot of exposure. One of the most common hate comments I get is that my face is "weird" or "strange". The more I show my face the more normal people who look like me become. Hope that clarifies.

    Surprised this list doesn't have Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance. It was still upcoming when this video dropped and now that I've played it a fair bit it's definitely in the running for GOTY for me. The demon recruitment and huge amount of resulting customization mechanically combined with amazing art design make it a must play.

  • @GamerZakh

    @@HiddenAdept I don't usually list enhancements of games unless they're something more notable. Shin Megami Tensei V released 3 years ago, so it's not a new or upcoming game. Yeah Vengeance is an enhancement but it's not even to the level of being a remaster, plus I don't even list remasters as upcoming games either unless they're of a very old game. Gothic is here because it's a whole remake from the ground up of a very old game. I also list Age of Mythology in my strategy list because that's a huge rebuild of a very old game. Vengeance is just a sizeable update of a 3 year old game, I wouldn't say that's a whole new upcoming game.

  • @GamerZakh

    A working building sends out a walker in white to look for workers. That walker just needs to pass 1-2 houses and the building they came from can access your entire population. So you can scatter a couple tents in industry blocks or just make sure that walker passes a single house at the edge of your housing block.

    Zakh has no idea how to use walls with towers to defend the city! The walls need to be extended further North. That way, sentries armed with spears will patrol the additional walls. It also means it will take longer for the invasion forces to break through the extra lines of defences, during which they are open to being repelled by the ballista and sentries. You need 3 forts for each of the passes. Not only that, but there are 2 requests for military aid, thereby leaving you with just 4 companies of soldiers. I would so love to share my ideas, only I have no idea how to record a game.

  • @GamerZakh
    @GamerZakh2 күн бұрын

    I have beat the game 3 times, every mission is easy unless I give myself special challenges and play laid back. I hear what you're saying and I'm seeing all your many comments, but I have already demonstrated the things you're talking about in other videos. By this playthrough I'm intentionally playing more relaxed because if I really try it's too easy and I get bored. That's why the silly block design challenge, just to give me something to do besides win. The blocks get much worse as you go through the missions. The walls need to be further north? 3 forts in proper positions? None of that is required, I win this map as is. My playstyle is based on necessity. If I don't need to do it to win, I don't put in the extra effort to do it. I hope that explains the premise of this playthrough. I am getting the sense this isn't the kind of gameplay you're looking for, but maybe if you see the context in which it was made you will enjoy it better. To be clear, I made this playthrough specifically to demonstrate how you can play any way you like, not calculating any numbers or optimising properly, being creative and loose with things, and still win the game. I wanted to show how that's possible and okay to do, because a lot of people were criticising me for not optimising numbers and that's just not my playstyle, so I made this playthrough to optimise even less on purpose and still win.

    In order for the 3 deep housing, that is to say, the two rows of housing furthest back from the inner road to evolve, is for them to merge as a 2 X 2 solid 'quad', something that, even with Large insulae, is not guaranteed.

    Too many weapons workshops. Capua only buys 25 weapons per year. Fact! While a marble industry only produces 5 marble per year, all other raw material buildings produce 10 units per year. Additionally, and as with the marble industry, the industrial buildings, those that turn raw material (clay, iron, olives etc) into their finished product, only produce 5 units per year. On that basis, you only need 5 weapons workshops and not the 13 in the video. You will, though, need 6 forts = 96 weapons, however, you only have 1 barracks and so the soldiers are created over time. 13 workshops will give you a surplus of 40 extra weapons per year.

  • @GamerZakh
    @GamerZakh2 күн бұрын

    The entire point of this playthrough is to not be optimised. It's a 'silly blocks' playthrough to demonstrate how you don't have to be optimal and don't have to play perfectly to beat the game. The whole purpose is to do the opposite of optimisation, so 'too many' doesn't apply to this playthrough. All your facts and numbers are 100% correct, but that's not the point of this run. All these numbers and meant to be ignored here and I'm demonstrating how you can ignore all that and still win.

  • @GamerZakh

    Northern provinces have a ZERO fire risk and so provided you can keep your citizens happy they are not needed. You will also need more prefects for desert provinces, in which fountain coverage is reduced by a factor of 1.

    The so called 'bug' is the 'Brundisiam hump'. What is more, it ONLY effects the Brundisiam map because of its small size. In effect, by immigrants occupying empty houses at the start of the game they will stop coming in at a point, despite there being spaces for more. The way to get around the problem and have the game conclude that there is empty housing to fill, thereby sending a continuous amount of immigrants into the city, is to make the immigrants take the longest route possible to the empty housing, which should be placed closer to the NNW rock formation than that of the one in the video. Incidentally, at 13.38 you will note the clever trick of placing a road behind the housing, which, in turn, provides workers from the housing to any recruiters that walk along the road. What the game's player overlooked was, a row of gardens can be placed in between the housing and the road and still provide workers for the buildings placed along the 'U' shape road. Fact, since common housing is built 2 deep , some of which won't merge to a quad, (a solid 2 X 2), the coverage of those support workers, from the Prefect to the Gladiator, is 2 deep from the road.

    This videos title is very misleading. Im 10 minutes into the video and you have listed two titles without release dates and one still in early access?! Title says in 2024. Are you psychic? While i appreciate the effort you put into these videos you shouldnt have to rely on games that arent even out and stuffing the video full of ads to pad the watchtime.

  • @GamerZakh
    @GamerZakh4 күн бұрын

    Early access means you can play it right? I don't think you want to get into the etymology of 'released' and the definition of that word haha. To be clear, 18 games out of 20 have set 2024 release windows or have released. And I'm not psychic, I'm experienced. Also I don't need to pad the watchtime, how would putting in unrelated games help that anyway? People just tune out. I predict things by analysing. Someone got really upset at me because I listed Dragon's Dogma 2, Rise of the Ronin, Dragon Age, and Black Myth Wukong for 2024 all before they had release dates. They also said the video was misleading and clickbait, that I was padding the video, etc just like you feel. Then all those games got 2024 release dates. I've done this every year for 10 years. See the problem with video game release dates is 2 fold: 1. Many games only get a release date as short as 2 months before release 2. Even if games have a specific release date, they can and are often delayed into the next year So how do you make any forward-looking list videos with any kind of certainty? Really it's impossible, but myself after making these videos for 10 years I have a stronger sense of what is more likely to become playable and what isn't. I'm not 100% correct of course, as you say I'm not psychic and I don't have a crystal ball, but I'm more experienced than most. The choice is: A) List only games with release dates and still be wrong because of delays, surprise releases, and cancellations B) List games with release dates and those without but have likely odds of releasing and still be wrong but be more informational and often more correct I opt for B and after 10 years, my predictions are more right than wrong anyway. Not to mention, I'm only predicting 2/20 games here. The other 18 have either released in some form or I'm taking their word for a 2024 release.

  • @GamerZakh
    @GamerZakh4 күн бұрын

    Also to note, for example with Outward 2, there's no fixed release date but they have already given out demo builds to some people and media, and the developer is considering early access. It could have a 2025-onwards release date but it could enter early access or just release that demo to everyone in 2024, which does count as becoming playable. These are things to consider when I make these lists. It also gave me an opportunity to talk about the first game's definitive edition release that was not too long ago, just as a bonus for something that can be played right now.
