At 4:12 she says : " Get me the Highway Patrol " instead of " Get me the Police" ... Funny ! Like their aint Police just Hiway Patrol in the city. I was 15 in those years and the H.P was only working on highways. Still i liked that show, better than "Father Knows Best".

It’s fun entertainment but it bothers that Crawford is never wrong when assessing criminals. He looks more like a criminal than a cop. Maybe got casted as a cop because he looks like he has eaten plenty of jelly donuts.

This has to be one of my favorite episodes. I can even remember it as a 10-year-old. Lots of little things the director did to make sure everything was authentic, even down to having the officer at the jail watching the prisoner. Whenever they took a prisoner out of holding, they kept one arm on it. This helps monitor the prisoner. Also the part when Williams and Matthews were checking potential sites where they could be ambushed, it's worth noting that they were parked right in front of the store where the gang was going to be stationed pretending to be gas company workers at a manhole. This was done to create suspense for the viewer, making it appear that Matthews had missed one of the potential ambush locations. Absolutely a great episode worth watching again and again to catch all of the little details that went into planning this episode. 👍👍👍

I have the impression that Broderick Crawford, and not just Dan Matthews, had a special, very tender and attentive relationship with children, this is seen in every episode where there is one. This must be the fourth or fifth time I've watched this series, and I still love it. Thank you very much for sharing. (By thhe Stuart Whitman looked pretty cute in a diver's suit !)

The microphone on the dispatcher's desk is pointed the wrong way. Evidently the set decorator didn't know how it worked or didn't care. Seen it that way in several episodes. Talk into the side, not the top. Very trivial but noticeable.

I used to make skirts, and crochet sweaters just like the little girls, for our granddaughter. People used to ask if they could buy them! I would've loved having a station wagon like that. I had a wonderful Oldsmobile, that held 8 adults. Lot's of room. and the ride was smooth as butter. It was the largest wagon that was sold, and had a V8 engine, automatic adjustable seats, and the best stereo system. Nicest car I ever had.

I think that is a Jaguar XK 140, thought it was an XK-120 at first but a better shot of the front shows the grill is one piece where the 120 had separate "teeth". Hard to really tell. I would have killed for a 120 in highschool. As far out of reach as a Rolls Royce or the red head I had a crush on.
