seeing all this old tech, is like a rush from the past. not too many years ago, i saw an old 3 wheel pullman, i think, that the postal carriers used to use to take mail around. i honestly do not know what year they were phased out, but darn it was like so cool to see. i pity kids that have these new toys and don't learn the break code by hand with the secret messages, or having hand carried radios and phones where these guys had no home message machine, hand held radio or other comm device yet they did their job in real life this is so great to have in video form to be seen by those who would otherwise never know. thank you for posting these videos

Wow, another very solid performance from Dan Matthews. At the end, he got those vicious bandits. Even when golfing, a good policeman can see a crime and resolve it. That's what make Dan Matthews apart from the average cops. He's definitively 2 steps above. Great stuff.

I hate to burst your bubble but did you know this is a TV show and Dan Mathews is not his real name? he is an actor named Broderick Crawford and he is just following direction, even the "Criminals" were just actors and they are also following direction, they probably read the script before they committed the crimes hence they knew they were going to get caught, they had no chance from the start, it was a walk up start for Mathews, if it had been Donald Duck playing the part, he still would have caught the criminals🤣🤣🤣

When Police Squad(in color) aired, It was kind of a secret. A little program like this, that ridiculed all the common crime show tropes up until that point. For me, the movie versions were too big. The tv show was like a private club. A lot of the gags were verbal, so you had to pay attention and have a good idea of the reference made. This show certainly played large for the writers of PS.

Whether Dan's on vacation, or on a day off or routine patrol he always stumbles onto a crime. Quite a racket they had going here housing criminals on the run. These were very bad dudes. The '56 F-100 here is not the same one as the one in other episodes as it has a six banger and it's already getting weathered (big dent on the hood) The pretty dispatcher is Lorraine Del Wood who appeared in I think seven episodes and was given decent screen time in most of them. The escapee who hides in the office is Raymond Guth who lived to be 97 (died 2021) and had a long career as both actor and as a voice in video games.

I hate how whoever ripped all of these episodes left the "stabilization" feature turned on in their video rendering software, so it makes the video all jumpy and look weird and distorted whenever the camera was panned as it followed a character that was walking/moving across the set. The software is trying to accommodate for these intentional camera movements by shrinking/stretching/distorting the original video in order to try to keep the character or foreground object "still" on screen. It's really a feature meant to correct homemade, handheld recordings, not to rip professionally recorded movies or television shows.
