I like this project so much! I have been searching for electric-motors-to-transmission EV conversions. Excellent job!

very nice! My son and I did a similar project at around the same time: kzread.info/dash/bejne/a3WEsslth7ebhbg.html Can you tell me where you got the hub and mounting plate? The source I used says it is not available for a long time.

You're still in the 'proof of concept' and 'prototyping' phase of this project, it's only natural that your mounts will be a bit sketchy until you get your final positioning sorted and can get the custom parts fabricated for the final assembly.

what kind of electric motor did you use? I'm doing a thesis for a mock up of an automatic transmission and I need a inexpensive electric motor that can run the transmission so it can change gears depending on the speed. what kind of electric motor should i use?

How come you decided to keep the clutch? Usually they say that EV s dont need gears, that just one gear is enough, or that you can change gears without a clutch

Great that You are back on track! Do You already have a plan how to get airbags, power steering and breaks to work as usual? The airbag can be tricky, believe its wired to the ECM, and not sure that can be used with the EV system?

You needed to romove those high voltage cables from the body and frame and you need entry glands to put those cables through so that the sheet metal doesn't cut through those cables and you don't end up unexpectedly electricuted at some point in the near future. You'd be better off running them inside the car under the carpet or under the seats and running them through the firewall *using entry glands.* If the batteries were mounted outside and the HV cables were fixed tight to the body it'd be ok but the way they are now, those cables are either gonna snag on something on the road or the sheet metal is going to cut into those cable. Also you can cover the leftover holes with metal plate pieces glued on with JB weld and then spray paint with paint over with por15. Goodluck and stay safe.

Great job so far. One piece of advice: you NEED to use rubber grommets when passing wires or hoses through the holes in the body even if the edges are not sharp. You could quite possibly short everything out and maybe hurt yourself. Other than that, Herat job

I noticed this too. Those holes have sharp edges and vibration will make the edges cut through the isolation and can end up in disaster. Hopefully you have rectified the issue by now. Great Job by the way.

Its a manual. I had an idea like this a year ago when I blew up my nissan pickup but never had time and money to do it. Hes doing it alot more properly than I would have and it's very cool. I wanted to just weild the electric motor from a conver belt to a flywheel and run it on about 100 volts
