Tbh, ground fights are freaking boring to watch. Which is why the most exciting fight to watch are both strikers. If you want to watch ground fights, just watch wrestling or BJJ Championship match.

Fighting a real muay thai, there's a good chance you either die or broke your leg, nose, ribs, jaw. Those mofo kicks is like getting beat up by a baseball bat.

Just like SAKURABA toying around with the Gracie BJJ Brothers. Beats them in their own ground game. Lost an arm after. Gracie even Surrenders. Watch youtube fight Muay Thai vs BJJ, how useless BJJ becomes on a kicking battle. You will literally lost your leg if you're not being careful with real Muay Thai(Thailander) fighter. BJJ us useful to ground fitghs esp. if the opponent doesnt know how to do ground fights, but to a striker kick or punch, goodluck. Just like Joe said, a fight started at standing far apart.

jiujitsu was invented as a complete last resort in a fight. i swear dudes use it as an excuse to 69 each other. any skilled muay thai fighter with good take down resistance strategy will make a gayjitsu fighter his bitch. ive seen it time and time again. a skilled wing chun fighter will pluck your eye out of your fucking skull before you could blink. the jiujitsu campaign is such a scam and not practical irl

  • @SoldierAndrew

Joe likes referring to BJJ guys as trained killers or just killers but no ones killing anyone in BJJ competitions. So they're not killers until they've killed . And all the killers are in prison or in the military Infantry MOS or SOCOM shooters and are war veterans. BJJ players are athletes, not killers. . .Unless they're BJJ players whom served as an infantryman or SOCOM shooter in military combat , but then we're not killing with BJJ but rather using martial (military) weapons to kill the opposition. Joe has been in entertainment too long.

As a striker myself I give the win to grappling in general - whether wrestling or BJJ. But if we break down which type of fight then that's a whole different story. Against multiple people? boxing. Followed by Muay Thai. Unless you're like me and way better at kicks than anything then Muay Thai first place. But thinking average dude no shoulder problems etc. Boxing first Against a guy your size? Wrestling or BJJ Against a guy much bigger than you? BJJ

Here’s the two truths people miss. First, in a real world violent personal assault, the bad guy or guys do not want you to get away. I can’t take your shit if you’re across the street. So the assault will be up close and personal. That’s grappling distance. Second, Jigoro Kano figured this out in 1882 and every 20 years or so people need to learn it again. The way you defeat so called deadly techniques, that cannot be practiced and mastered; Is with safe techniques that can. Judo gave us the idea of sparring in real time full speed resisting opponents conditions.

When he says Jiu-jitsu, surely he means Japanese Jujutsu. That is a martial art born for purely self defence (combat Jujutsu). It covers every scenario from standing, to takedowns, to grappling, but has the added teachings of being dirty and striking erroneous areas with certain parts of your body (for example, Jujutsu practitioners prefer to guillotine with the blade/bone of your forearm crushing your opponent's Adam's apple; they like that forearm blade, they like elbows, headbutts and palms, they practice face raking, eye gouging, low blows, doing clever take downs followed by submissions designed to cripple, such as a one-legged Boston crab or wristlock after torpedoing a knee on your downed opponents' head). It's a martial art designed for instant self defense. Both Judo and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu stemmed from Jujutsu.

i'm in krav maga and agree with Joe. i've also done muay thai. on the other hand, it's usually not a bjj expert or a karate expert or boxer (or someone in martial artis) that you have look out for on the streets. it's safe to say that martial artists are not looking for fights because they are disciplined and not trying to hurt people on the street. it is helpful to train with other martial arts experts to sharpen what we've learned about other sport fighting techniques or martial artists in general. i like krav maga because it does teach a basic level of physical strength training, self-defense, weapons defense, and some grappling from to keep at bay an attacker from the street.

Should someone tell him? You don't need a heavy jacket to do Judy.. There are videos during the WW2 era of soldiers in the Imperial military practicing Judo without the kimono/gi. Many early judoka preferred ne-waza which is why Kano started putting more emphasis into tachi-waza in the curriculum and why you see it being practiced under olympic judo; over time this is changing due to various competitive formats

Joe you're absolutely correct any martial art that doesn't have full contact sparring is a joke really it is it's almost like shadow boxing which you know I'm not saying it's a joke I'm just saying if you don't go full-out 100% sparring then you really are in the dark in my opinion the best self defense on this planet is for the street because you're not on no feather pillow Mat and that's where the Gracie's conned the world in my opinion I will guarantee you Rickson nor anybody else in his would have challenged a judo master in a street fight on pavement like he did with that luta livre guy on the Beach he knew damn good and well he wasn't going to get hurt very bad on that sand you know it and I know it you know pulling guard is alright even on asphalt if you have to but it's going to hurt your back you're going to be cut up and bleeding in the hospital for that pulling that guard where judo has the stand-up skills to lay you down and being a superior position if the throw doesn't kill you or knock you out

most guys who invested their life in the MMA martial arts will never admit that their system isn't the end all be all of martial arts... but Rickson Gracie AND Gracie Academy admit it in videos: Rogan keep saying that MMA guys are trained killers, which is not true, they are trained to win sporting matches in a ring on a mat with rules with a referee with gloves with a mouth guard, etc. etc... so he's delusional about that... But Rogaine is right that really good MMA/UFC guys will beat 99% of everyone in a fight, a 1 v 1 stand up, roll around fight... MMA guys wins 9.9 times out of 10... but MMA guys don't want to admit that it's not always a 1 v 1 or a fair fight, MMA assumes a fair fight... on the street the guys not going for his keys, he's going for the 2x4 from the construction site right there or his knife or his gun... or a chair, etc. etc... it's totally different than a sporting MMA fight. An "attack" is not the same thing as a "fight"... when someone comes after you to hurt you that's not the same as a 1 v 1 stand up fight where the two people go at each other without dirty tricks... street fights and war are full of dirty tricks, squadrons of soldiers not 1 v 1 , 2 v 1, 3 v 1, 10 v 1, etc... IT"S NOT THE SAME THING... Again Rogaine is right, MMA/UFC pro is going to kill 9.9 out of 10 in a 1 V 1 fair fight... but just ask Uriah Faber who almost died in a bar fight if even untrained thugs fight fair... Urijah Faber MMA/UFC/Muay Thai/NCAA Wrestling/BJJ WORLD CHAMPION almost died in a street fight, Aikido black belt never would have got in that situation and would have been better prepared against multiple attackers, known not to clinch, go to ground in a street fight: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nWGjpcewj8jMaZc.html Rickson Gracie starting his BJJ seminar with Aikido drills made famous by Tohei Sensei (Aikido's former head instructor) a long time ago then saying that BJJ guard has nothing to do with self defense. Professor Rickson is basically teaching Aikido basics in this seminar. Put an Aikido gi on him and its an Aikido class. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fJxnrZatpNrbqco.html Here is some of the Gracie family members at "Gracie Jiu-jitsu Academy" recounting how a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu purple belt student got beat up in a street fight and felt that his BJJ was useless. The student pulled guard but was getting hurt with punches that he never learned and he was a purple belt. The BJJ purple belt was disallusioned with BJJ and act why haven't I ever learned this in BJJ. kzread.info/dash/bejne/l2xqlsuTZNaoaLQ.html

I slightly dis agree with Joe here because you will only really get into fights with people who don't know how to fight. The people who know how to fight don't get into fights for a few reasons one being they know what could happen and they don't wanna kill someone and they don't have the "Tough guy" ego and the need to see how they measure up.

not true. The only thing that happen is both are grapplers/bjj. But strikers or muay thai fighters, the moment you lay down, goodluck to your legs. 100% of the battle at first are all standing. Very less change of grappling. The only time grappling happen if either both or the other one is exhausted.

In my experience a past amateur boxer and 5 year bjj practitioner, close the distance with solid strikes, when they clench...get underhooks, takem to the ground and just drive their head into the pavement whilst slamming your elbow into the back of their head. With the right mindset, boxing and bjj are lethal combos in any altercation
