so i finally bought zve1 with tamron 20-40 mm f 2.8 for travel to pakistan. initially the dynamic stabilization was very bad . i was about to return the camera but then i updated the software of the lens and now i am started to get the desired stabled footage. i tried slog3 but i am not able to adjust the footage properly using my software. My footage does not look like yours and others slog 3 footage. i think that s curve is not making sense to be about adjusting highlights. i tried Cinetone profile. it is good but it is very dark in shadows. any suggestions?

I need an ultrawide lens for use with subject at 1meter but changing to .7m and 1.5m indoor use so widest aperture. Will manual focus work setting it at 1m and not adjusting focus as subject comes closer or moves away without readjusting cous with this lens?

  • @ConstantineSPhotography

No matter you use a manual lens or an af lens, you'll have to adjust focus distance if your subject stand at different distance away from the camera. Unless you use a super small aperture to create deep depth of field, but that way the image quality won't be good.

I sold my a7rv for this camera for the same reason as yours and I couldn't be happier. It really makes a huge difference on a daily basis. It's just a perfect everyday/travel size camera while still has plenty enough photo/video performance. I didn't like the 1.5x crop at first either, but I feel like it's not that big of a deal once you get used to it, plus I actually found it very useful as I constantly use it to get a closer focal length lol, and the best thing is you still get the full 4k resolution. For vlogging I just use a very wild lens and it works out perfectly. You're really getting a lot for the price.

@@ConstantineSPhotography I’ve compared the video footage with the same lens and settings and on my unit I’m getting a stronger greenish hue.Don’t know why maybe it’s the characteristic of my particular camera. Thanks for your reply , appreciate it .Good luck.

I'm very glad to hear that. Just out of curiosity, does the image also look washed-out when you use F1.7?

@@ConstantineSPhotography I may be lucky, but I haven't experienced the "wash." Probably because of the reviews, Pergear enclosed a free hood and I keep the hood on it. Both to shade it and to protect it because I don't have a filter on it. BTW, I also have the 7 Artisans 25mm f/1.8, which is just as sharp but, has much worse vignetting.

Thanks for sharing! I guess I got a bad sample. I prefer the 7 Artisans 25mm f/1.8 to this one.

@@ConstantineSPhotography The 7 Artisans lens is a very good lens, the main thing I have against it is the clickless aperture ring-- I'm old school on those.
