Minelab repairs and modifications, i have been detecting since 1980 and found hundreds of thousands worth of gold nuggets.
I build highly modified detectors so to give prospecting a greater chance of life changing finds. I make the worlds best detector technology better.
So you want to find gold, you better know what you are doing or you will never find the big deep ones. #metaldetecting #minelab #detector #bestmetaldetector #Detectormods.com

It always makes me laugh when i see these 'home bodge' mods, the number of F1A4's that came through my workplace while i lived in Perth was crazy, I didn't work on detectors myself but seeing the butchery done to some of the machines was staggering. Then there was some bloke from Melbourne doing "mods" for $250 destroying detectors left and right, think he went by Mozza1 or something on the forums.. tried tracking him down but he crawled back under his rock.
This is great. Thank you
You're very welcome!
great vid well presented.
cant minelab supply replacment boards.
I doubt they will ever do that.
Cool
How much for sdc 2300 adapter for aftermarket coils Peter
You have to ask David at Detectormods.com
😇
great upload and great job 👍👍 .......ur the man 💪
Great work mate , might have to dust off my sd2000
Give it a go, it’s not that hard.
Ok, sounds like you need to do an educational video for that one guy that gets the modded version, then everyone who gets their machine done like that can just watch the same video. Save some time maybe?
Thanks from East Gippsland. 3875
That sounds good. Especially on the 0.025
0.0025 of 1 gram.
All good, Woody.
Epic as usual Woody.
When do you think this will be released for sale. Does it discriminate iron from gold ?
Yes it can but it’s out of my control.
The std 14DD on a 6000 has an AI mode already. No need to butcher a coil to extract the handshake module.
Also, try a nut other than Almond as they are super high in Oxcilates and affect your kidneys in a bad way, mate. Wallnut or a nut low in oxcilates are an awesome opiton. High oxcilates case alot of harm in the body mate look up high oxcilates foods on here my friend and your recipe could be made even better 😋
I think Brazil nuts should be good, never investigated the oxalate content of Almonds.
All good Woody as usual.
Totally interesting video, so in depth and with a somewhat understanding of variable frequencies and gain. You opened my "ears" pardon the pun I do have some questions about my GPX6000 which I will call you and discuss hopefully... congrats on a great video!
Watch the next one that is about to go public.
great work again pete
Thanks for sharing well done
Thank you too
The Garrett Axiom has a unique cable. It’s a 4-core coaxial with a shared braided shield. But two of the cores are a smaller diameter than the other two. I haven’t found a supplier and Garrett declined to sell any. If you know of any like that I’d love to know. The most stable coil I've made for the Axiom used two different diameter dual core coaxial cables with a tinned braided sleeve grounded to the two inner coaxial cables. It’s a bulky monstrosity. I’ll be stripping the outer insulation for my next one and keeping the length short enough to reach the control unit at full extension of the shaft which would require only a wrap e two for me at 5’10” tall. Interesting idea to crowd source manufacturing.
I am having some DD cable made for some new products , it may be possible to use to use 2 sets of cable to make a quad.
SD2000 for the win. I'd love to follow along and mod mine at home.
Great to hear, these older detectors are very basic and easy to do around 50% of the mods yourself.
good pete great insight into this topic
It’s not too hard if you have the information.
I use the back side of my hand, like knocking on a door to prevent touching. And sanitize my hands often when in public. I also tend to not breathe around ppl. I went to one place nearly 8-9 months ago. A guy kept coughing, the next day I thought I dodged one. UNFORTUNATELY the next day, food started losing it's taste, and I felt like I fell out a car on the highway! And it only got worse, I started to feel better for a day ,so I thought, and eventually i was dieing, so I thought, after nearly 3 weeks , I go to doctor, they do test, and I have the flu, I think I had the cove, and cought the flue when I went out, it started coughing and couldn't taste, thought I was better, go out feel like a was ran over by a train. And/or a highway of cars.. I also had a ear infection, it's possibly the second time I had the cove, the first time I past the point where I thought death. Was coming, I thought death was here, harassing Me , it was horrible.. good luck, hope you feel better soon, or best yet , FEEL BETTER NOW!!😶🌫️🤧✌️
Being on a Keto diet helps smash the Lurgi.
Mr. Woody, my gpx 4500 pen is broken.if I buy it on Aliexpress, will it work as well as the original? It's just that the original is expensive and hard to find, and Aliexpress is cheap and easily accessible. After all, it's just a button
Buyer beware, lots of fakes that do not work.
Yeah it's cool, but you really shouldn't enable businesses like Ali Express...
Until western company employees work for a few grains of rice per day we have no choice.
@@DetectorMods LOL!
Just got rid of two. Got the big monitor type, which you can record.
Use honey and lemon ,cheers
Extra Virgin oil and vinegar.
I vote for the SD 2100 thanks
pleae don't take the clot$hot
Epic as usual Woody.
Fantastic work. How do I get my GM to you to do this to it and how much please.

Got one of those little microscopes myself, 7" screen 4k, does a brilliant job, i think i paid $120 for mine, don't do any work on detectors, but very handy for small smd work.
Could a Gold Monster benefit from a Bigger coil like a 20 inch for deeper big stuff? I'm not aware of any just curious if it could be a thing. I just scored an almost new GM.
That would be a step backwards.
Roger that, thank you!
sir if GPX5000 and -15 V is Gone what IC must repair or replace
Look at the mosfet near the transformer.
@@DetectorMods Thank Mr i thing That IC marking F7805 soic 8 maybe that is mosfet Mr. thank so Much
Send it in for repair, if you diy you’ll have a dead Gpx
GWS Mr
teacher, I have an opinion that in your test you use a plastic box filled with soil, in the plastic box there is a small passage for the target that will be used, practice in the field is not the same as testing in the air, thank you, please guide me
I can already do that but it has no effect on p.i detectors in air or dirt.
This new SD project detector should be called the IMHO (in my honest opinion)
thank goodness corvid,s getting milder,i am not having anymore jabs, its not clear if they are safe, cheers.
I haven't been detecting for years. 4500 is my favourite detector. I am not technically minded at all. Is it possible nowadays to set up a 4500 with a wireless Bluetooth speaker as opposed to wearing headphones ?
I Got a SD2200d that I would love to do it up to put a big coil on and try find some big chunks 👍
That would be cool!
Hi all, I have just purchased one of these detectors, is there any way I can find out what I need to do to get it working properly? If you would be so kind as to let me know that would be fantastic!! Thanks in advance Doug Western.
Does it not work?
@@DetectorMods no, I have the same problem with my machine that you outlined in this video! Could you please explain to me what you had to do, to get it right?
Hi Woody I have a modified SD2000 it was modified by Barrie Johnson some time ago . So a rough guesstimate on a price for you to work your magic on it i no how long is a piece string cheers Mark
Depends on what you want it to do.
@@DetectorModsmake it run quieter and go over it to make sure it operates smoothly if possible can you do anything with the start up noise 😂
@@markgreenham1034 A timer that shorts the audio for a few seconds.
Air Tests tell us Nothing.
Makes no difference on a pulse induction detectors.
I have a SD2000 that I’d like to compare to later detectors.
Good idea
my SD 2000 MODED needs some love
I have inherited Grandy’s SD2200d. Been wanting to reach out to you for a while now. Been saving up to send it over for an upgrade. Be neat to see a DIY upgrade video. Yes please. I would like this
I vote for the SD 2200 😊
I love the mini-series idea. It would be nice if you do some benchmark noise comparisons before you start the upgrade. That way we can see the before and after results. I own a couple of these older SD2200-V2 and SD2200D that I bought used. I have played with them a bit and I couldn't tame them at all. I suspect they both need these upgrades, because as the sit all they are is noise makers. I have no idea what the controls are supposed to do. I have been following this channel hoping you would do a series like this.
