    Buying the exact EMG setup you have. Total Eclipse .I have a Candy Apple Red Fender Strat with a Floyd Rose. I need the Floyd. Gonna build a Brad Gillis style guitar too later. Waited 15 years for this. I'm 55 now so it's "bucket list". Thank you for this video man

    @@saltyguitars You're video made mine and now I'm buying a Fender player strat brand new neck for it too. I have to have the maple dude. I love Eric Clapton using that pickup setup on Pretending from 24 hours I think it's called. You can't miss that sound.

    Hi there, great demo thank you for sharing this with us all. You explained it so well too. Was the DG 20 loaded pick guard just connected to the EC strat Jack socket? Or was it in any way connected to the original Clapton circuitry. Many thanks for a reply if possible. 🌌🌅🌠👍🏻

    Is it possible to have the Gilmour Mod with this set? It is having the blend of neck and bridge pickup, like the middle position of a telecaster.

  • @saltyguitars
    @saltyguitarsАй бұрын

    That would be a great option to have! I find the Tele neck/bridge sound much more usable than the "in between" Strat sounds. My next project maybe! 😊

    I remember trying a Clapton signature strat around '86 with the active boost. It was a nice strat but I prefer the tone of the EMG Gilmour set which I've used.

    I've been curious to put the original Clapton (loaded) pick guard back in just to see how it sounds in comparison.

    Just bought an artist white strat as a base to work on and it’s getting this loaded pick guard. The stock are poor but the rest of the guitar is awesome.

    I have it dialed in as good as possible and lubed but that still doesn't stop double-stop bends going flat. That's to be expected though w/o a block. Everything else so so great its a worth the trade-off. 🎸

    Alternatively, you could try one of the other trems, like a V Blade or whatever that one is that the guitar channels on here had hyped up for a few months recently. I forget the name.

  • @austinfailz

    Also, I have two of these EMG set ups in my two Strats, though I have the SLV (Hotter SA made for Steve Lukather), in the bridge and neck with an SA in the middle, and it sounds killer.

    I also stay between 0-6 on the EQ controls. I typically have them are SPC 6 and EXG 4, though I do roll them all the way down, or just use one or the other, as well as use them in between 0-6 based on ear. They make the pickups super versatile, and I do not require a boost on the pedalboard if I don’t want one.

    Good ear! Because of what I fear is arthritis coming on I use super light floppy strings and as low of action as I can get away with. The buzz isn't audible with direct signal only. I realized after recording I could have gated the vocal mic.
