    Where'd you pick up that brake switch? Love the factory AM radio & the dash mount tacho.. looks sick. I'm always checking ebay USA for period style dash tachos.. almost bid & won a chrome Cobra one from a 69 Torino,, but someone pipped me at the dying seconds DOH!! The Aussie 60's Falcons never came with tachos (or V8's) so it'd be pretty cool to have a nice tacho..

  • @rdspeedfab
    @rdspeedfabАй бұрын

    Thanks man! Those tachs are rare here as well. It’s a factory tach since it’s a sprint. It is bypassed and inside the one I put in the cluster but I leave that one on the dash because it’s just so cool. That switch was a parts bin find. Picked it up somewhere along the line and figured I’d eventually use it.

    Great little run remover is a tungsten square blade,, its about the size of a a Scrabble square but totally made of tungsten,, you can shave the runs out clean & saves time because you only hit the run & not the adjacent area as well,,& it never gets blunt,,, but your repair turned out perfect. Love the colour... but it needs some satin black black-outs...Ohh, you're gonna do that..😂😂 See how i make notes as I'm watching,, LOL Such a satisfying colour... It looks wringing wet & deep.. awesome used to keep a spray bottle of water & occasionally spray the panel to keep the pad from getting too warm & burning thru..it does cause a lot of fling off & your shop gets spattered with compound but the finish is glassy. Beautiful job tho mate... you gotta be happy with that..🤙🏽🤙🏽

  • @Snakelegs-go8qo
    @Snakelegs-go8qoАй бұрын

    Good job you chose this Grabber Blue,, it'll be safe now from the DEW's.. there's really handy gallon lids at the paint shop that come with spouts set in them, makes for an easier pour. Another thing i learned painting was to bring in the garden hose before you spray & being careful not to wet the body & mist on a light layer of water onto the floor..it keeps the fine dust down when you're dragging the hose & shuffling around with your shoes & the overspray is attracted to the wet floor so it sits down quickly & reduces some of your overspray. Love the colour Rob

I'd take it home to my shop & drop it in my guide coat tin. It had a round dense soft sponge under the lid.. you shake it up til the powder from the ink cartridge would lay on the sponge then just wipe it over the repair.. real easy to use & refilling it was free👍😁 great work Rob.. Nice mate,,,My dad had a '61 Falcon wagon when we moved th Oz from Ireland back in 1969.. I have a polaroid picture of me as a 3yr old sitting on the roof of it when we were parked at the side of a bush road.. Coming from the UK this Falcon felt to my old man like he was driving a boat after all the 'miniature' English cars he's owned & he called it his "Yank Tank"...So when the chance came up, i bought an old Falcon wagon like dads.. mine is the Aussie XP model 1965 & now she's a 302, soon to be 347.. if time & money permits. I don't have a great workshop like you have but there are plans (in my head) for one with the hoist & a host of new tool toys. Great little custom job mate, i reckon you'd pay $40 Aus for a dinky-chocolate one from Chy-na... which is about $26.70 in your money.. So for a custom monogrammed one i'd say $49 USD for a bare steel one & $20 more for the powder coated model. I really wanted to see you make the top with edges & breaks so that is wraps the top of the battery top & bottom, rather than just a flat flap piece of tin, which obviously would be more work, but you could add dimples in the top for strength & make it more interesting & sell that one as a premium model..& chrome it..!! $150 bucks I'd buy one from you but I'm putting my battery in the back of the wagon & dropping in the floor somehow.. in 2055 probably. Love your work Cobber..

Wish I had an old F truck to play with, don't paint it. I hope the well body is as nice & patina'd as the cab. What a good dad you got. And the music today... much more appropriate..I've been toying with the idea of a 8.8" for my XP Aussie '65 Falcon wagon. Apparently the pre 2000 Explorer's had 31 spline axles & LSD & they're pretty cheap. Only thing is you need to remake the tube on one side or buy 2 diffs because the stagger is so large, one side t t'other. Really enjoyed this video.. I'm catching up to almost present day.
