I had the same experience. I did not know anything about IT. I studied it only because my parents said that there are good job opportunities in the area. I later realized that it is hard to move up in that career because technology changes fast and if you start work in one area then you are pigeon holed. Even in big organizations, they do not give you an opportunity to try new technologies despite acquiring the skill on your own in your free time because they get people who studied that technology in the university. I always wanted to be a Chartered Accountant when I was in high school. If I had followed my passion instead of doing what my parents wanted I would have been far more successful in my career.

Men and women split the bill while dating in all Nordic countries and maybe even in Germany and Netherlands. Most women in these countries are working women and there are women who earn more than men because they are better qualified. Also, women do a lot of work including home repairs and renovations on their own in these countries. They do not wait for their men to do this for them. I like this culture because although I am not from these countries, my parents always encouraged me to be independent. While I was growing up (I was laid back), my mother always told me - You have 2 hands, 2 legs and a brain. If your brother who is younger than you can do it then why can't you do it?

Another pancake recipe - Soak equal quantities (1/2 cup each) of parboiled rice and white lentils (urad dal) or sprouted green lentils (moong dal) overnight and let it ferment. Grind it in the morning, add some salt and make the pancakes. It is healthy and delicious. You can also make pancakes with wheat flour and rice flour combined or with just different types of lentils.

@girllovescoding21 күн бұрын
Most people learn the language within a year to a decent level. So, I can't say it's hard. Depends on your skills ofc. No one in Denmark cares about your religion. That is your own business. Unless you are one of these weird people trying to prove to everyone that Your religion is the best and everyone should follow it. Then danes can get annoyed, but definitely not violent 😀

Well done video, it was a good watch.. I find Stockholm to be very similar. As it goes for making friends with the locals - as a migrant, it's been the same in England as it is in Sweden and Denmark is probably just the same. Work relationships within the context of work is easy - but most people outside of work stick to their circle of friends.. the only country that differs greatly is America (maybe also Israel?) - where people are not just polite but also friendly and open. The key as a migrant to making friends is really with people with similar interests.. i.e. other migrants looking for friends having just moved country.
