I am so glad I am an athiest, since I was nine years old. Who could buy into this bull? Only stupid Americans , that’s who.

I just watched this on Netflix and there was a glaring omission regarding closeted gays working as American politicians... nowhere did they address the blatant threat to the security of the country, when these closeted gay guys are found out and secretly blackmailed to commit treason, by corporations or the mafia. (Imagine someone confronting one of these closeted gay congressman with a secretly recorded sex video, that shows them having sex with a few guys in a Washington hotel room, and the congressman is then blackmailed to vote to pass a new law or bill, that benefits a corporation or the mafia... he knows if he refuses, then they will release the sex video to the media and expose him to the world. He would lose his well paid job and would never get a job in politics ever again, his wife would divorce him and take half of everything he owns, his kids and family would never speak to him, and his life would become a nightmare as he would become a joke in the media. So these closeted gay guys and their secret sexual lifestyle become something that can be exploited by powerful corporations and the mafia, as they secretly hiring gay men to seduce those closeted gay politicians and secretly record their sex acts... when entrapped in a gay sex video, those closeted gay politicians can be blackmailed for years, to do whatever they're told, whenever they're told.)

He's scared of coming out of the closet because of losing friends and family because of being gay or bisexual. But he wouldn't because losing his status and economic fortunes he receives.

7:45 There's never been a slippery slope conservatives could not resist. They get mesmerized by their conjured-up Parade of Horribles and abandon rational thinking. Yes, gays could serve with the integrity of living authentically and STILL BE disciplined for adultery and "body art," exactly as heteros are. It's nonsensical to believe that ending discrimination against gays will be the undoing of military law.

Sessions said some genuinely brain-dead remarks. "10,000 discharges?! That's less than 0.1%!" NOT THE POINT: We're talking about 10,000 human beings who volunteered to put their lives on the line because they were patriotic, only to have their career and comrades taken from them because #TheReligiousWhite used gays as scapegoats and punching bag. Also Sessions said gays don't have to lie. #clueless Not disclosing who one is, is living a lie. And it's a painful, lonely lie.

This woman is truly iconic, and truly inspirational. Nowadays a lot of gay youth don’t understand the battle and fighting that was done not so long asgo for being openly and unapologetically gay. She is one of the few that shaped gay rights movement in this time. She was so vocal about gay people and her love for them. I was in high school struggling to find myself, struggling to accept my homosexuality , and her music and her persona, and her outspokenness aided me to be happy and accepting. She was a strong and influential voice for marriage equality she is just , just so influential

I could care less if gays or lesbians want to get married thats not a problem but equal rights is kind of stupid. I believe in equal opportunities, why do men have to sign up for the draft but women don't thats not equality yet whenever its brought up the women say that its not fair. Make up your mind on what equality is so we can bring the country together again.

The majority should never have the chance to take away the rights of the minority! I don't understand how anyone can hate someone for whom they love, this is love. People just want to love and be loved, and no one should have the right to hate someone for whom they love.

Coming here bc this was featured on an ABC original 4 night series, "When We Rise" about the history of the gay liberation and gay rights movement. Today, we have legal marriage equality yet we are still fighting the fight. But, one of the most amazing things I can say is this series has taught me and my generation that were just coming into realization as to what this is and the fight that this has been a long time. The fight has been long and all generations will fight. My generation and the generations before and after mine will keep on fighting. Every generation has its spark. Mine was the most anti-LGBTQ+ man and vice president being elected into office and only months before the most deadly shooting we have had in America. That also happened to kill 53 of our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters. For later generations, I hope that the series that I looked this up from is the spark to get them to join in the fight that our past brothers and sisters alike have fought. This may not be read by anyone... from the looks of things I don't think anyone has read or left a comment here in 3 years. But, if anyone does read this, now or 10-20 years from now, know that whatever fight you're fighting. Just started or has been long overdue, will happen if we all just fight hard and long enough. Before the gay liberation movement of 1971 no one knew that 44 years later it would be legal for same sex couples to legally marry. Now its your chance. Because no generation is ever silent, every generation has something that they have stood up for. Let whatever fight you have be it.
