Great tips. Watched this video before trying and now sharing my experience. My brake hose was maybe 10 years old or even more and that connection was very rusty so i applied days before penetration oil. I bought open ended brake-hose wrench kit which was like 12-14 €/$ and one of the wrenche's fit well to that brake line nut. I put force only to brake hose part with pipe pliers while holding that brake line nut with a wrench like he. I had to heat that damn brake hose metal part around that brake line 3 times until i was able to open it put it opened without braking and i got the new hose installed. I also added penetration oil and then vipe it with water and then heat again. So heating is very useful. I was srarting to think that i need to go shop to get it open but heat saved me.

Wow, all that just to change the belt, hopefully you don't have to do that belt tensioner or idler pully anytime soon. Not much space between the frame rail and bolts.

Also if you have a ring that's had the ribs broken off by previous persons who did pump removal and you have tried liquid wrench lubricant waited a day then tried strap wrench without success, you can just use a small jig saw blade stuck or screwed into a small file wood handle. Cut the ring starting at top edge as deep as you can without damaging tank neck threads, then hit it with hammer and chisel, the ring will split and come off. Of course you should have located and purchased a new ring. When you install the new pump put some silicon dielectric grease on the threads of the ring and only tighten amt needed, don't over-tighten, the rubber seal at top is pressed down tight sealing off before the nut is tightened as tight as it can get.

These engines have automatic decompression centrifugal lever on the camshaft opening the exhaust valve just a little bit putting that much oil in it will also raise the compression because the oil will seal that little Gap in the valve at decompression the only way to properly check the compression is to make sure the intake valve is set to the proper gap I believe that's .015 but you could check your engine specs for valve tappet clearance to be sure. Once you have got the intake valve set at the proper clearance remove the rocker arm on the exhaust valve this will eliminate the decompression now redo your compression test. Sometimes the decom on the cam gets froze up or the spring breaks causing permanent decompression.
