Where did you get the brass plates for the opening ?? I can’t find them anywhere !!!
You can go 20 feet up, but you can also go as low as 9 to 10 feet… 20 years of Wildlife Rehab working with hundreds of Screech Owls and I have seen so many natural no higher than 10 feet. Even 8 ft.
Thanks!
Thanks for the tips. Purchased 2 Eco Tough birdhouses today from the northern NM store.
Purchased mine today at the Wild Birds Unlimited in Santa Fe NM.
How did the open tops with the plastic on them do?
Biden’s high inflation across the U.S. has hit hard for everyone, I no longer can afford to feed and house my beautiful bird friends…. And I am sad.
Where could I buy the cage for my large tube feed?
Hello. We tried both those. They still eat the safflower and they still eat the suet turned upside down with package
Great to see you, Henry! Very good information and excellent products at your wonderful store!
Thank you for taking the time to make and post this very informative video. Just subscribed
As a 63 year old I found this difficult at first. But then….I gave it some umph! Then it popped out and now I know not to be too gentle!
Ned? Ned Reyerson? I sure as heckfire remember you! Bing!
My birds wouldn’t touch the seed. Now I wasted the money
Is this page still monitored??? I'm having this problem right now ! I need the upsidedown suet feeder and feeder cages!!!
Very helpful and to the point video!
The sunlight shining through that plexi-glass will heat up the inside of that bird house and quickly become too hot inside for chick survival.
Plexiglass will not conduct more heat than what is already illuminating. And as he said, blue birds sometimes nest in the open in the elements on top of rotting wood posts, so heat and other weather conditions do not bother them.
I learned so much more than I thought I needed to know 😭
Nicely done. Lots of helpful information.
Is the direction a birdhouse faces significant?
Interesting, thank you for the education.
At my Arkansas country home, the finches will consume sunflower chips, not hearts, b4 touching thistle. After the chips are gone, thistle is next.
Wow! I’m not used to so many useful facts on youtube.
Love this!!
I’d there a website for your store?
Very informative. Thank you!
1,000 per hours. They are doing some serious eating.
I live in Elkhart Indiana. I understand that we should put them facing southeast. Is there any place that would fund housing for bats around here? I want to put up houses, but I don’t have the funding.
Where to buy the cages that will fit over tube feeders? Can Cardinals still get through?
Very informative, thank you!
Great job 👍 short, informative, hits a lot of points without getting lost in the weeds. Thank you!
Thanks!
How long does this take to work? I just hing this owl house.
Great vid
natural methods like owl houses lol
any idears on how to keep the rats from coming and eating the dropped seeds etc that are on the floor
Maybe hot spicy seeds some rodents don't like spicy seeds.
Cardboard box with door cut out and a peanut butter treat rat trap. Of course you have to deal with the whole dead rat thing, but my neighbor has been doing this for years and rats don’t last long around here. Live traps for red squirrels with a relocation program.
I got a cheap stabilizer with mine. It's two pieces that do not fit together one has a screw but the other does not and no instructions that address how to put the two togther. It's not like the one in the videos
The stabilizer that came with mine has two pieces and there is no way to put them together
Should use 3/4” pvc at 4” each as a backer spacer through which you put 5-7” gutter screws (2 per house sufficient) - need to minimize falling guano from hitting siding; also avoid locating over window or doors.
I didn't know birdboxes was a thing in the US. I thought it was a scandinavian/UK thing. great video!
Redwing blackbirds and cowbirds get in. Upset I spent 100 on thr feeder + $50 on the cage!!!!
I'm lovin' your channel. Very informative. You should do more!
Awesome tips!! Please do more of these❣️
Very Nice...
Excellent information! Thank you 😊
I found the house suet feeders (upside down feeders) work to prevent starlings and grackles from eating it. Now i can out the super blend suet in them. For all of my others feeders I use safflower seed. I buy peanuts in the shell for my flat feeders for the Bluejays and squirrels. If the peanuts are in the shell the starlings won't want to take time to crack them open.
Hello Bev. Do you know if Starlings will eat up black oil sunflower seeds? I am curios if they will be as eager to crack those open. Thank you, Tamara.
@@treasuringpricelesstime5962 I heard yes but I can't be sure.
Fortunately, the squirrels (about 7) and morning doves (about 20) eat together at all the feeding stations I created around a large tree. The morning Doves never touch the peanut (in shells). My only little naughty ones are the Blue Jays. They don't like eating with the others and will swoop in (like military) to grab food quickly and take it to another part of the tree to eat. The wood peckers are incredible and seem to only enjoy the suet cakes. Every now and then - parrots will come through for the fruit. They are SO loud - usually in a group of 3 or 4. It's so amazing to see. (I live in South Florida). Thank you for your videos.
Merci beaucoup from Québec

How many birdhouses would you recommend for 1/2 acre
