    This is fascinating. Absolutely fascinating. Are there any businesses in the US that could machine a prodotype of a product I’m trying to make? What would I need to provide to them? Any resources would be appreciated greatly!

    Hi there! Check out my DIY CNC machine here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eXeBt8-SmqXYncY.html I bet the most COMPACT enclosed and aluminium-capable desktop CNC out there. Most COMPACT in a sense that it probably has the lowest ratio of overall machine volume to available working area. Let me know if I am wrong. For the records: - overall dimension: 400x360x520 mm - working area: 250x150x100 mm - ratio: 19,968

    I'd be super-interested to know how to do this process except with some sort of laser / lidar sensor instead of a touch probe. Does anyone have any suggestions on equipment and / or resources to research this further?

    @@mitjabrglez9599 Like I said - Mitutoyo. I've worked with many cheap calipers and they are waste of money even at that price. In the video he's using 25$ "insize" calipers. My favorite one is Mitutoyo IP67 if you take care of them, they can work perfectly even a decade later. But then again on amazon they cost $171.95 with a discount. Imo they are worth every penny. I paid ~$200 in my country

    Impressive work for a small machine, of all the micro machines I have looked at including the Taig 2019 and the Sherline Deluxe. I like the design of this machine the best, it's a shame the price is higher than the competing machines.

  • @sourcerabbit
    @sourcerabbit Жыл бұрын

    Hello Matthew, thank you for you comment. The price is a reflection of the machine quality and capabilities. Micro Mill features ballscrews and linear guides, it offers a bigger work area (300x200x180mm) and weights much more than the two machines you are comparing with. In case you need to learn more do not hesitate to contact our support department www.sourcerabbit.com/Contact/

  • @ShitThatsMyn
    @ShitThatsMyn Жыл бұрын

    @@sourcerabbit "Micro Mill features ballscrews and linear guides", oh you mean those "features" every cnc mill has? Even previously mentioned Taiga and Sherline have those. And you don't even have a rail cover to protect most important parts on the machine, so what about it's longevity? How long will it hold tolerances? Couple weeks?months? It's weight is actually a bad thing since shipping is more expensive. And the work area is really not that bigger to justify the cost. Your only somewhat valid argument is it's "capabilities" since I couldn't find how much power Taiga has, but it at least comes with vise and a 6 piece collet set as a standart. Be honest to yourself, your machine Is overpriced, more than twice the price of Taiga.

  • @sourcerabbit
    @sourcerabbit Жыл бұрын

    @@ShitThatsMyn thank you for your comment. You are most welcome to bring one of the mills you are comparing with our Micro Mill and do a live comparison. As for the shipping cost.. shipping cost is calculated from volume and not from weight.
