Great video. Love the combination with the fuzz. Amazing sounds.
Thanks for watching. Yes the fuzz really sounds great with this pedal.🫡
If I could have done that with my ex gfs I would have been a happy man. 😂 Completely forgot about these having the contour control. But, I bought a really nice Valvestate for the price of the pedal so, I'll get by. It's a VS100, not an 8100, but it's close enough. It did come with the original footswitch. No box though. Lolol Nice demo. I hope your channel grows.
Thank you very much 😁 I have a 8040 combo here, not exactly the best amp ever, but still love it 🤘🏻
This amp scared the hell out of me! Bought it about 2 years ago. Had been playing Katana 112s for a while and was tired of them. Wanted something basic that I could just plug and play. Unboxed this amp. (I got the black version too) Plugged in with the volume at maybe 3 or so. Strummed the strings a couple times. Strummed a couple chords. Then I did a quick down up hitting it hard and I just about fell out of my damn chair. It got LOUD! lol The Katanas were 100w, and of course they would get loud, but there was no touch response like this thing. Never regretted selling them at all.
Haha nice story! Thanks for sharing. Yes, they get incredibly loud. I never owned a Katana, only tried the 50w mk1 version once while it stood in the rehearsal room. I think they sound very good, but I was never interested in actually buying one for myself.
Yes finally someone saw the potential this thing had! I found one really cheap on marketplace and fell in love with it! then i found out Wayne also used it so now its my Nu metal and 80s shredder backup for gigs and home jams. Dont know why people bash it. Its very versatile for gigs and if you want to mess at home this head will get your sound. Honestly the best solid amp I have and its a keeper for me.
It sure is a great amplifier! And thanks to the bad rep, it's dirt cheap. Glad you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine. Rock on 🤘🏻
Do you have a similar story of an instrument of yours? I'd love to hear about your story 🫡
How about direct to USB recording, is it any good?
Sorry I can't answer that question, since I have never done that before. You can use it as an audio interface and that's about all I know
Absolutely lovely video. This video was so good. Guitar playing with spot. Definitely consider picking one of these up. But I think I just wait until I find one Guitar Center for a reasonable price or garage sale. I’ll be checking eBay and see what they go for. I’m so happy we have connected at a higher level. You’re my bro. For life 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks Bro! Yeah definitely check out the used market, you might get lucky. Likewise Dude 🤘🏻
Underrated amp and Underrated channel
Thanks man! Yeah really nice amp but bad reputation
I use this amp stack and a Tube Screamer, with a Behringer Graphic EQ in the FX loop. Pretty solid tone, can get pretty similar to a Mesa/Boogie Mark IV with enough dialing in. I love it. Just lookin to get a cheap(ish) tube amp to slave into it for that pure tube tone, maybe a Peavey 6505 Micro or an Engl Fireball 25, but I ultimately want a Mesa/Boogie Mark V 25W.
Sounds amazing! I would go for the mesa boogie as well 🫡
just got one (esp ltd ex-50) used in a straight trade-silver with an aftermarket bridge pickup and locking tuners. sounds and feels incredible after 4 beers and a full setup. love it
What amp settings was he using
Great review.
Thank you very much for watching 🤘🏻
Orange amps are fantastic no matter the wattage or price!
I had a M9 when it was new; upgraded to HX-Effects when it was new. Works great for me.
Thank you. I like your videos. You demonstrate a good balance of showing and telling.
Thanks for watching 🤝🏻
Respect
I had the absolute pleasure of hanging with Chuck (and at the time, very few wouldve really cared) back in 1994 when i was in a band in Orlando... I hope he's able to see the love he has gotten in the social media era because i think he wouldve been floored... He was a super humble guy and deserves ALL the love forever.... (And PLEASE dont throw away your pedal boxes!)
Wow man, I'm a little bit jealous now 😄 but great to hear you hung out with him! Yeah I hope so too 🤘🏻
All from a 1x10 speaker too!
Yes! Amazing
Nice video, mate! I recommend to check out the Joyo High Gain Distortion (the one with the skull and crossbones). It's a Shredmaster clone with the bass fixed at 3 o'clock and boosted treble. Also, it can be easily modded to add the bass control back and tame the extra treble, if you need. I have one and I like it a lot. Cheers from Brazil!
Thanks, mate! Sounds cool, maybe I'll try it 🫡
I have this zoom padal too....will if emulate the HM2 ....
Haha 😄 I actually tried that, but couldn't get a good result
One thing he forgot to mention when using a noise gate is, you want find the right spot. Too little will give a little feedback, but too much will kill your high ends, especially if your a guitarist that plays leads you will immediately notice when shredding that it sounds like it's cutting off when playing the high notes. So what you want to do, is meet it halfway.
Zoom 505 is the retro one 👌
My favourite is jackhammer. The brown sound.
Yeah the Jackhammer is a very cool pedal, maybe I cover that in a video in the future
Awesome job! The talking part was great and the playing part was a great metal demo showing the capabilities of the Shredmaster. As I said before, there are lots of demos of that J. Greenwood/Radiohead tone. You made the comprehensive demo for metalheads, but also for non-metalheads. Sounds really good with V30, but if you have a chance to play the Shredmaster through the T75 speaker - oh, yeah. Even more 90s metal. R. I. P. Chuck Schuldiner. Greetings from Slovakia! Keep up the great work!
Thank you very much! I was hoping that you would watch this, since you suggested that I should do a Shred Master only video in my Shred Master vs Power Stack video 🫡 I'm glad you liked it. I'll keep the T75 speaker in mind, maybe some day I'll get to try it. Greetings from Germany 🤝🏻
@@PedalJunkie You're very welcome! Yes, and I was also hoping that the video will come. I liked that SM vs PS video a lot. I also like that you have that enthusiasm in pedals especially and you are a great player. Thank you very much again, I will be looking forward upcoming content Big respect to all your work!
i had two of those back in the 1990s then i bought a valvestate head. awesome sounding stuff!!!
throw away all boxes. who gives a shit... you can't play the box. it does nothing but take up space.
Well I give a shit and I have enough space, so...📦👍
@@PedalJunkie well then yeah, keep em all brother
Dude, this is EXACTLY what I was searching for, drums and this amp, thanks a lot.
Same, thanks dude❤
You want some content that people will watch? Buy a Boomerang pedal, and do an in depth video of all of its functions and features. From what I can tell, nobody has done it yet. Just some basic videos.
Thanks for the advice. I just looked it up, and depending on the model, they go between 300 and 500 € in my country, which is a little too expensive for an average joe like me.
@@PedalJunkie I saved up and got one. It's expensive anywhere, but WELL worth it. The haptic foot switches and the timed change between loops are awesome.
I have a first generation Shredmaster that I bought from someone at College in '99, it AND a wah pedal (long since misplaced) for £35. I had the box but it got lost in a move. not that it matters 'cause it's staying on the board!
Thanks for sharing that story, It's always interesting to read about people's experiences 👍 wow man, that sounds like a killer deal!
@@PedalJunkie Yeah, it's the only piece of gear I still have from back then pretty much. Had tendon problems with my wrists that forced me to give up guitar for a long time, picked it back up in 2017 and... well, my pedalboard now is more... MORE. - Friedman Motor City Drive is my go-to these days, sometimes with a tubescreamer in front of it. Sometimes the Revv G3 gets rolled out, but sometimes only the Shredmaster will hit the spot. the key when you've got a few drive pedals that could sound the same is to set them up really differently on the board. :)
@TorazChryx well I'm glad you could pick up the guitar again friend! I don't know what I would do without it.
@@PedalJunkie btw regarding the shredmasters tones being kind of dark without maxing out the treble control, that's actually kind of how I use it, for dark thick tones. a lot of single note stuff, not necessarily leads but there's some Brian May/Queen "teo torriatte" tones in there.
The Orange Crush 35rt performs great at live gigs. All live gigs around here are quiet stages so i use the Cabsim headphone out to house and IEMs. Keeps up with drummer all night long and no Tinnitus!
Yeah you are 100% correct, I was wrong about that statement and made an entire video about that. Great amplifier 🤘🏻
Wow thank you.. i learned something new about the pedal.. and about me.. guess i like guys now..
Well dang! I'm already taken 😆 but thanks for watching my content, rock on 🤘🏻
This was a fantastic video.i loved you talking about all the pedals and the boxes. You cracked me up, it was so good. I actually didn’t know that about this pedal. I definitely want one of these now. Currently have the blues breaker and governor pedals. But yeah, I think I’m gonna buy all of these pedals. Each one is so one is so unique. Thank you
Thank you very much, brother! I'm glad you liked it 😁 yes these are great pedals. You live in the US, right? I don't know the prices there, but here in Germany the Drivemaster is on sale for 99 bucks in most online stores, is it the same where you are living? I'm thinking of getting the Guvnor 🤔
@@PedalJunkie well your video was very well done 👍 That’s really good news about the pedals well, let me know when you pull the trigger.
Es el mejor amplificador lo tengo hace 15 años ✨
k
I've tried and compared a JC22 with a number of other small amps and the JC22 won hands down. Apart from the solid tone and strength at volume, the cabinet itself is really built to last. I actually ended up very disapointed with the other brands that I tried and was glad I never got stuck with one.
This was a breath of fresh air. I feel like it’s OK to make a mistake. But the way you made your amends. Was fantastic. This was such a good video. I have a question. What do you use to edit your videos? And I subscribed to your channel. You have so many videos for me to watch I can’t wait. The Guitar playing sound great. I don’t know I could go on and on and on. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for watching and subscribing! I'm glad you liked it 🤘🏻 about your question, since I don't have a computer (actually I have an old windows 10 pc but I just use it to browse the internet occasionally) I do everything with my phone. I use an app called "Vidma" to edit my stuff and "canva" for the thumbnails. I checked your other videos as well, I enjoyed everything you put on your channel, especially your cool intro 😎
@@PedalJunkie OK thank you so much. I’ll definitely check that out. Yeah I’ll definitely check out more of your videos.
Tip. You can make any valve Orange amp sound exactly like a lifeless Marshall by dialing the mid to 0.
0 it's like a fender, 2-3 it's like a marshall 😌
Well, that was not expected. Obviously will not go anywhere, but I support it.
DAT ASSSS!!!!! ;)
Tnx for the updated review! 👍🏻 The amp sounds great. Was your distorted guitar sound just the amp on the dirty channel or the clean channel with pedals?
Thanks for watching! The distorted guitar sound was the dirty channel with a Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive. The exact settings on the amplifier were: Dirty (volume) 1 o'clock, Treble 1 o'clock, Middle 2 o'clock, Bass 3 o'clock, Gain 2 o'clock The Boss Pedal was : volume all the way up, tone 12 o'clock and gain all the way down. Cheers 🤘🏻
I also have 😁 amazing guitar!
Good little amp, been using it for 8ish years, it does muddy up quite a lot when fed with distortion pedals and ive noticed it absolutely hates my TS808, crumbles into a muddy mess
Didn't try distortion pedals on it yet, I was happy with the amp distortion. But I definitely agree with the "good little amp" statement 🫡
Nice video! Keep it coming, I think you're doing well, it's angenehm dir zuzuhören. 😜
Vielen Dank 😄
Andy who?? (Im only kidding... Metal joke...)
Great review thinking of buying one and wondered what tones you could get from it, your the only one to show all the tones and the effects of pedals on it. Cheers.
Thanks, Mate. I hope this video helped you to make a decision about buying this amp. 🙏
That poster is way cooler than anything you were hoping for.
Great video! Do you think it's still worth it in 2024 for 80 dollars? Or do you think there are better options on the market?
Thank you very much! Personally I think they are still worth it, because of the build quality and the versatility. There are 6 different delay types and all of them sound great, even today. If you're not interested in that filter delay, then I would say just get, for example, a Boss DD7 / DD8 But if (and that's why I got it) you want that filter delay sound like the sweep echo...this is a great alternative to a Line6 DL 4 or Line6 Echopark. They can get quite expensive.
02:39 -> clean flanger 03:51 -> filter matrix 05:02 -> chorus effect 05:55 -> rotary effect 06:36 -> distorted flanger
