Contains the webs best chemistry tutorial videos. Along with a whole bunch of chemical experiments used in my chemistry course and a few too dangerous for class.
for being the only person to properly explain this.

Our teachers did this expt. amongst other banging demonstrations as an end of term treat for getting through the curriculum ahead of schedule. Sadly, most of the kids these days miss out on these due to the safety brigade. Every year I watch my neighbours shell out a fortune on fireworks.... So ....in the 2nd week of november, I do a few "thunderclaps" at the bottom of the garden. The local copper is not terribly thrilled when I show that its just a teaspoon of custard powder,or flour,or very fine sugar. But....still perfectly legal. Its only a "nuisance" if you do it constantly,or in the early hours of the morning. Funniest thing my neighbour did was to buy a set of 10 rockets for his display and drive the sticks into the ground. 20 ft garden.....30ft radius skyburst.....but zero ft altitude and a 10second fuse. Fortunately,it only cost him his favourite leather jacket and not his head. (hint....the rockets stick should go into a bottle....or into the launching tube ......so it can take off)

No video I've seen ever addresses where the Joules over grams degrees Celsius goes. They just kinda disappear in that step where you distribute the specific heat capacity to the (Tf-Ti). What's cancelling out the Joules?
