8.13.14 Argyle Lake Waterfalls after 13 inches of Rain

Ғылым және технология

Babylon, N.Y. August 13, 2014
Over 13 inches (33cm) of rain (a New york State Record) fell in about 6 hours on Long Island. This was more rain than the 11.6 inches that Sandy dropped on Tannersville, N.Y. There was massive amounts of flooding and road closures all over the area.
Now the water has to go somewhere and Argyle Lake is where it went before it ended up in the Bay. The water usually flows gently down the waterfalls, before flowing under Montauk Highway to a canal that leads to a the bay. Well Montauk Highway had to be closed from the flooding from all of this runoff.
I doubt I will ever see the water flow like this again.

You were late to the party. The water was crazy earlier in the morning. The water was flowing out of the lake where the parking lot is and crossing Montauk. The area on the south side of Montauk where you show the water flowing out to the bay the water was coming off of Montauk like a waterfall and then of the dock. It was pretty amazing to see I wish I made more videos that morning. But here's one I have from the that morning posted on here. kzread.info/dash/bejne/o2Rrx7CjprKYnKw.html
