Print on Demand tutorials, resources and seller tips.

My name is Jeff, and I have built a successful Print On Demand (POD) e-commerce business using drop shipping partners for Etsy. I've learned a lot since I started in 2020 and want to share some of what I've learned to help others succeed with their print on demand businesses.

    Hi Great Videos Man!!! Keep it up. I do have a Question. Can you make more than one Combo listing of the same design. So like 1 listing could be a sweatshirt and within that listing you can also offer t-shirts and hoodies. Can you then create another listing with the same design but call it T-shirt design with the same products for sale as the 1st listing. Does Etsy allow this? So you would have 2 of the same listing just the main product would change on each listing. Hope this makes sense. Just wondering. Thanks

    So to be clear, is it saying that sellers can put a name on a mockup & use that as a 1st image? It's not possible to order one of every personalized item just to take an actual photo of it for the listing.

    Thanks for great video i would like to in case of personalization is it mandatory to buy the final product and do listing or marketing because it will be really difficult for new seller to purchase each and every personalized product and do review. Please advise.

  • @BeachcomberNZ

    No, you don't have to purchase a product that has a personalised name on it. All you need to do is make a mock-up picture that has words that match what you say will be printed on the item you are selling. For example, if you want to sell coffee mugs with a person's name on it, you only need to make one with a pretend person's name on it, not the name of your actual customer. So, your coffee mug mock-up picture can have the same 'Smith' on it, even if your customer's name is 'Jones'. What you can't have on your coffee mug mock-up picture is something like 'Your name goes here'.

    I like you content informative and easy to understand. I have a question concerning the same product (say Sweatshirts) having different design variation for different colors. what I mean is the light coloors garments has a black typeface and the dark colors I use a white typeface. In printify I have the colors seperated in 2 listings, one dark type the other white type. Same product different collors. I though about just posting 2 listings in ETSY but after seeing this is it posible to combine both in one listing, even isf I need to enter SKU's seperate. any adive would be appreciated.

    When I upload my own logo to the store, on the live pop up store it is showing Logo and the name in text of my store side by side in the header and footer. I contacted the support but they said there is no way to remove the text. Is there any fix for this?

    Why cant we use the personalization option as a variation? I had a tshirt with 6 different designs and i made a separate photo page showing them with their A B C… or 1 2 3.. choice then asked the customer to tell me on personalization which design they wanted. I made sure personalization was NOT optional meaning they couldn’t checkout until they filled this out. That left me with two “full” variation spots for size tshirt and color/price. I did not make anything on printify. I’ll make it when something sells. Saves me lots of time in case it never takes off.

    This was great! I could never figure it out before. One question if you still see comments: what do you do about out of stock SKUs? I just created a listing and some variations were OOS; how do I keep on top of colors/sizes going in and out of stock when I've entered the info manually? My usual setting is for Printify to indicate they're OOS so no one orders one accidentally.

    I have a question about Printify and Etsy regarding shipping prices for multiple product orders from different providers. I recently had someone order a phone case and a sipper glass which comes from 2 different providers. When the order was placed, I was not aware that Etsy wouldn't charge for each individual shipping price but basically charge one flat fee, which resulted in a small loss for me. Do you know what I need to change in Etsy so that I don't have this problem in the future?

    Thanks Jeff for clarifying this! I also agree that there really isn't a truly "passive" print on demand business. Even if the platform (like Amazon Merch) takes care of the customer service for you, you would still need to keep on listing new designs if you want your income to increase or maintain it (if certain designs drop off).

    Excellent Info - Thank you. However still confusing. Another KZreadr states that you need to select "I Did" for who made this then select the Production Partner. He adamantly states this because this information was given to him directly from Etsy CS.

    That's correct, you never pay for a product before a customer places an order. But you pay Printify to fulfill the order prior to receiving the revenue in your bank account, so your payment occurs in-between when the order is placed and when you receive the payout.

    Thank you do you have any update video for the pricing. Because now i am selling at lost. Etsy fees goes to 5usd, production and shipping become 15+5.49=20.49 so my cost is now 25.49 and the competitors are pricing 26usd. So either i need to change my print provider or i need to search another website better than printify

    Thanks for this tutorial! I was wondering if there’s an easier way to batch update print provider in Printify. I had created and published some listings using Monster Digital before. Now I’d like to change all of them to be with SwiftPOD due to the fact that Monster Digital doesn’t offer Bella Canvas 3001 kids sizes, and I want to avoid having group orders shipped to customers in multiple packages from different providers. Is there any way to move a bunch of existing listings from one print provider to another in Printify? The “change shipping profile” function in Etsy isn’t the answer here, is it? Thanks!

    Are you sure that "Another company or person" is the right setting in the listing form for PoD? That sounds for me that we don't have any hand in the production at all which is not the case as we are creating the designs on our own. I send you a video (via contact form) where Jay Da Souza" kind of proofted that it needs to be "I did", he clarified it with the Etsy support. Unfortunately I cannot post the linke here as it seems

  • @PODinsights

    Printify suggests "another company or person" in their help content: help.printify.com/hc/en-us/articles/4578896595345-What-should-I-keep-in-mind-when-selling-on-Etsy All my listings are set to "another company or person" and the new category field on my listings correctly shows "designed by" as I showed in the video.

  • @ArminUT
    @ArminUT16 күн бұрын

    @@PODinsights Thank you for your answer! It's a pitty that Etsy didn't clarify that yet. When I select "I did" and add a production partner, then my listings also show "designed by". Furthermore when I select "I did" then I have some additional options to select options in "How does your shop produce this item?" where I now put "It's an item that my shop alters" and I can also select tools that helped my create an item, such as AI. When I select "Another company or person", I have none of this options. This makes me think that "I did" is the better option but I will also try to clarify with Etsy support on my own now.

  • @marklicciardo9534
    @marklicciardo953413 күн бұрын

    Agreed still confusing this is the KZreadr & video I was referring to in the above comment. My thought is that either is ok. "I Did" = You made the design + you identify the PP. "Another Company" in your PP profile you indicate that "you create the design.
