Shmups commentary videos and community shitposting apparently.
I categorically deny all rumours that I have received funds from the Bydo Empire. Those allegations are false and I will file a defamation lawsuit against anyone who continues to pursue such allegations.

Respectful view on the community, we all have our angles to keep this alive
True. The entire Rolling Gunner SS6 commentary is top-tier STG content btw.
@@DMC_stg I am glad you loved it. I can help with commentary during events if you just ask and I have time
@@BigMaloneGaming A joint Dimahoo commentary would be tempting.
More educating than anything I learned in grade school
I almost lost it when you said "Real interest" lol. Great video.

Me(me)(mememe), I'm just a mere jester. But, also - coin-cidentia oppositorun! If I told you I was a member of the Swedish stgfan, you could probably guess which one! 😄
Undantaget, I presume. :) I fondly remember your debates with Nitrifikation. Stgfan was great!
@@DMC_stg Haha did I get on his nerves or what! But I also idolized him, even if I don't know if that ever came across. I was very immature back then though, so I probably would have gotten on my own nerves these days if I met my younger self. :P But there was a wide range there, from like brandbil and egret iirc correctly that had thousands of comments, whereas our maybe best player was this guy that just once and then posted another very high score in like daioujou without any comment what so ever, whereas I would have made a thousand word post about my score, shit though they were! Although the most prolific overall good player must have been javel, who had relatively high scores in very many games - and also the highest amount of broken controllers from shmup rage. XD
Yeah, Javel was my favorite (so I had to include his Vertigo avatar in the community homage at the end fwiw). He was really good at learning games fast, then posting the score followed by a statement like "this game is now for sale, I will never play it again" or "I have now deleted this rom, I will never play it again". :) J2d was awesome as well, typical northern grumpy guy.
@@DMC_stgHaha ah yeah yeah yeah, Jd2. :)
i miss shitposting on the farm so fxxxxing much :(
truly magical

The deepest shmup content ever
LOL. This is great stuff. Reminds of the recent thread on the Shmups forum where SCHLAUCHI showed up.
love the video but man does this music hurt my ears.
Yeah, music in compilation videos is always gonna be a divider. I've considered adding an instrumental version, but not sure it's worth the effort... and part of the fun was syncing the dodges with the temporal patterns of the vocals.
@@DMC_stg well, i subbed anyway. I like the content.

Hi , very nice video...got more or less same run as you, my only issue is to get the 2 arms of the boss...most of the time I got one only. Maybe one out of 100 tries, i manage to get the 2. Any additional advice you could share to improve that?
Thanks! I also struggled with the boss more than anything else, very rarely got all parts. I think I needed to get there to see the boss appear around 1:54 to have a chance, and get rid of almost all the blocks by then to have an open field. Other than that I think it is the timing of the first bomb that is most important, so maybe experiment with that. Maybe record a run and look at them side-by-side to compare? Sorry can't be more specific because I struggled there too. glhf.
@@DMC_stg Thx...I think I finally made my way on this. Question: you played on PCE mini with classic Pad or you bought a turbo pad?
@@pops_retrogamer I played with the stock turbografx mini controller, so I guess it's the classic one.
Best players evah...
Wonderful!

this is some of the best content in this community rn
need a paul eales feature as the new challenger & akt*ne
Thanks for bringing the Shikigami dodges and Crimsom rants to my attention. :) I considered Paul first, but the Deathsmiles/Shikigami clips sealed it for Shadowserg. I like Aktane, very sampling friendly! Are you planning more kumites with Chinopolis, Wabby, and others? I liked that you kept track of scores throughout. My favorite stg streams!
Peak shmup content right here

This is perfect
Waiting for that Dimahoo charge shot be like:
Dimahoo, the ultimate trigger of shmup grievances!
Kino
LMAO
Dimahoo was my favorite shmup way back when i didn't even know how to play them. The game's presentation is just GORGEOUS !
Agreed, one can tell they are passionate about the Mahou universe and went all in, presuming this could be their final pixel art game.
Amazing video (as always) from the Raizing master, I was looking forward to seing this video after all the efforts you've been putting into the game ! Looks like you have potential for even high scores :)
Thanks, it's a little similar to my Soukyu video actually. The first two stages can be optimized route-wise (collect maybe 5-6 more items by the end of S2, so I don't need to pick so many in S3), and the last two stages I could save some bombs/no-miss (so that I can go for the 5 secret items I missed at the end of this run). But it's not in the to-do list in the near-future. It would require a lot of time for me, and Gigafacer last phase is so damn fast. :)
Insane score and commentary.
Your commentated videos are a treat to watch. I'm glad to see you're still playing shmups and Raizing games especially.
"Here's the final boss, smoking a spliff before the final battle." 😄 Finally, the return! Even knowing the outcome it's such a tense watch as you flubbed the ninja fight and were so close to your goal. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and strategies, it was very enjoyable.
Thanks, EC! There's a joke about the boss looking "stoned" as well, but I fumbled that one. :)
Very impressive run of the game. I also really appreciate the knowledge and backstory to some of the game's you cover. The passion definitely shows. Cheers
Thank you, Sir! Good to hear. :) Cheers
For everyone emulating these Saturn titles I highly recommend using one of those I think they're called "Retro bit" Saturn-style USB gamepad or a real Saturn gamepad to USB converter box. This game specifically is good with a real 3D analog Saturn controller / Nights into Dreams controller.
Thanks for sharing! I also like the Retro bit Saturn pads, they feel great. I have had some bad luck though with the d pads losing sensitivity after a while, but maybe Retro bit have improved the build quality since then. I have also used the Raphnet PC to Saturn USB adapter: www.raphnet-tech.com/products/saturn_to_usb_adapter_v2/index.php
it is in the top5 ultimate shooters. A cool note about this game is, if you use an ST Key on a real Saturn it'll translate some of the menus. An ST Key is a cartridge people would use to play (official not burned CDr) imports on a Saturn without needing to install a mod chip. Personally I installed a mod chip on a black japanese saturn with circular buttons (a later model). But I still have the ST Key in order to play US/Eur games before I got the mod chip.
That was a really enjoyable video. Loved the commentary.
Amazing run, thanks for uploading and offering commentary too! Fantastic resource for an underappreciated game. Do you have any tips for dodging the missile pattern at 27:16? I have had a lot of runs end to that attack... It only seems to come out once in your fight against it so I'm struggling to figure out what your movement strategy is.
Thanks, Dan! What I do at 27:16 is what I always try to there. Start around bottom center, go left or right halfway to the side or until the missiles almost catch up (i.e., until the background is just black space) and then 90 degree sharp turn up, and at the very end another slight turn back to the side again. If you look at NAL's run at 12:40, he does it twice there (www.bilibili.com/video/BV1ot411j7bA/?p=2)
Your tutorials (particularly for these more obscure Raizing titles) are fantastic! Love the effective explanations and the other facts about the game thrown in there.
Thanks! I appreciate it. There are plans for a Dimahoo one next, I hope.
@@DMC_stg that would be amazing, thanks for the vids!
GYBE !!! Nicccccce. Great run of my favorite game, with one of my favorite bands to take us out. Very good. Sub'ed and Liked :)
Thanks:) it's comforting to know someone appreciated the GYBE outro. Cheers!
