During my trip to the quest of the perfect vintage (from a good year)sound I make reviews of top vintage stereo equipment from the 70's and 80's. Please subscribe and comment.....update.... After 5 years of testing(2018) I am much closer to my goal and I have a far better understanding what I want. Although I am not completely satisfied with my main speakers I think they are hard to beat for the price I paid. My goal is a set heco statement speakers but they are still to expensive for me. I had some great amplifiers last year but still not sure if the amp I will end with will be a sansui , accuphase ore a onkyo. Even the akai am-93 I'm spinning over a year now, I don't rule out. I think now after 5 years I still need a few years to reach my end goal( the perfect sound for a small price), until then I keep scoring and filming. My hobby started 5 years ago(2012) with a marantz 2218 and I learned /discovered a lot since. I hope you also learned from my video's.

Using aluminium foil is very dangerous Andrew, you could electrocute yourself, or short out components causing extra work or unrepairable damage!

我朋友在1991年左右，把全套M-93带回了中国，包括电唱机，收音头，均衡器，功放，磁带机，cd机，中置喇叭，左右主喇叭，超重低音炮，后喇叭（环绕）。 至今他几乎还能正常工作，我用它接sony无损播放器作为音源，现在功放的几个旋钮有点问题，我打算拆开它清理并维修一下，希望他能再次正常工作。
Why not apply the solder to the LED lamps AWAY from the tuner? Then you wouldn't need foil to stop solder falling in. It's not a good Idea to power the tuner up, with the foil still inside it! ⚡💥🔥 I have a Japanese JVC JA-S22 Amplifier, and it still has the original 46 year old incandescent Power Meter Lamps!

Aluminium foil is conductive not great when there are open contacts on the top and the device is on. Better use cloth maybe, the idea is good. Can't see for sure if it's professional job but if it works it's fine guess. How is the lightning? Original color?
looks mint. Look at it- an analogue tuner, from the past- the quality of these vintage units are simply second to none- even today. I call it, the golden years of hifi.
I bought the Chinese Accuphase E-405 power amp and I can tell you first hand that having owned it for 7 months now, it sounds better in just about every way than my PS Audio. That's the God's honest truth. It doesn't run any hotter than any other class ab I've owned. I run it fully balanced into my Schiit Freya and they run my Jamo Concert 8's. I can't honestly think of a better sound. Well, I'm sure by spending $20K+ I could get there. But what I don't know.....won't hurt my bank account. Or my marriage.
The laser on the cd is done it needs to be replaced

I bought the A12 integrated, ran it for 150 hours non-stop for break-in, and then ended up sending it back. It was driving Klipsch Cornwall 3's. The mids and highs were glorious, but, even with the loudness function on and the bass set to 10, it was lacking in the deep bass that I demand with any system. The Cornwall is a very sensitive speaker, and if you can't get deep bass with it, it's because it's not there. To be fair, I believe with more demanding speakers, the A12 might have good bass response because it was probably tailored for that type of speaker. The Cornwalls aren't demanding enough for it.

i have a pair in the same colour...they look cool in a 60/70s way....i power them with a rotel pre amp and amp...they sound tight and clear with every style i play...have great bass for the size...unfortunately they have just split...i would recommend

Bought one today with the same problem , followed your instructions and BANG , now when the LP is finished the arm goes back and stays there and it turns off. Fantastic. Thanks ,one other little niggle is when I press Stop it does stop but takes a good 10 seconds to start the process, any ideas why, thanks again

12 years still running great. Tip: Install carpeting not ceramic or wood floors . The sound absorbs the carpet better and you wont get a hallway effect echo.

it is better without sub, sub makes unpleasant feeling for the ears, it`s too much.. just my opinion.. never liked subs.. better if stereo speaker goes low enough..
Andrew, In situations like this, always try aux or tape input, try some mp3 from your phone, never make a conclusion like this, maybe it is just tuner section problem, not the main power amp.. why you didn`t try other inputs? did Simon tell you what was the problem?

You will never find that Philips model.. but you can find even better, 22RH427 and 22RH457, both with double Woofers for very extra deep bass, midds and highs are all the same in those series, which is excellent! Just look for them!
Using tubes you must combine them with high efficency spaekers
Tubes😴 are just so weak, they do not have any power at all. Meanwhile Transistors💪 are strong and have loads of power.

@@lo_1Yes I thought so aswell. It was a bit of a joke, never tried Tube amps. But I do know that there are Tube Bass guitar amplifiers with 300 watts, maybe that would be very expensive with HiFi. Do not know enough about the technicalities.

Hey Andrew, I don`t know where to ask some questions so I will do this here: what happened with that black amp Sansui au-505, you bought it from that shop, years ago, no review, ever tested it? and also, what happened with that very nice mini Fisher set (Studio standard by Fisher) I think it was ca-120 or CA-M300.. I saw it once in notification for uploads, maybe 10 years ago, can`t find it on your channel anymore.. no Fisher at all...
Ahhh yours is so clean!!! Mine has after market eq knobs and the original cover is missing. Its got the silver face but its pretty beat up. Still sounds great though haha
I have the 5 BST that runs my center and to rear speakers for my home theater and a 4b set for my front left and right B&W Matrix tower speakers and I'll tell you that That 5B has been running for years and Works like new still and I leave it on 24/7 So it is warmed up and ready to go when I play music or a movie. You can't go wrong with bryston and they have a 20 year warranty So you pay the freight to Canada and they go through it and fix whatever or update whatever needs then you pay They pay the freight back. Such a great company.
De Kef’s hebben een filter revisie nodig. Ik heb de 105 ook. Vergeleken de Heco Celan XT901 wat ik had, is de KEF 105 een klasse beter. En de KEF 105 zijn 86db, dus hebben een zware jongen nodig.
De kefs zijn helemaal gereviseerd

хороший аппарат. звучит очень хорошо. автор не разобрался с настройками , поэтому получил для себя такой плохой результат в звучании. усилитель отличный . рекомендую.
