ive decided ive had enough of citadels regular acrylics. Im gonna give PA a shot. Budget is around 200$ so picking up the base set, the metallic set. Trying to figure out how im filling out the rest. Holding on to contrast paints for flesh tones, and the i guess im a crazy person cause i like the new citadel shades.
Damn pokemon making everyone pronounce flame-on as fla-me-on :)
Bold Titanium White 🤍 Dark Silver 🖤
No one mentioned it yet but nice sleep token hoodie :)
My man, have you checked out Blkout by Enemy Spotted Studio? It’s super fast, has the same “add more dice” combat rolls if people are out in the open, etc. They also use D10 dice, have a very small model count (8-9 models for an entire “army”), they come in a one-piece resin mold that’s very highly-detailed, and the games last about 30 or so minutes. Speaking of cheap, I bought EVERYTHING, including the terrain for about $320. Look into it!
Great overview! I do love their color triads in this set, especially for skin tones. Being a quite new painter myself, I can appreciate this, and didn’t have an overabundance of AP war paint line, but do have a ton of Speedpaint, and overall I’ve always liked Army Painter and glad they kicked it up a notch with the Fanatic line.
Hello! Does Amazon sell this Warhammer kit? thank you
The vibe. The paint. The background music. The voice. Perfecto. I subscribed
"Cah-key" not cacky. That means something else... lol
That Red Oxide looks like it would work so great for the recent Horus Heresy Blood Angels that Cult of Paint did. I just got gifted this set and I’m pretty stoked to try out most of these.
So niche! But looks rather cool
I'm brand new to the hobby and have zero existing paints. I'm just now starting to buy brushes (Rosemary and Co.) and some Princeton synthetics. I've yet to decide on a Paint because I have no experience with any of them. I've watched a lot of videos and it does look like most painters are using paints from all brands. You might not be one of the bigger channels but your review has been the most helpful by far. TAP has good marketing yes, but it looks like they've got a really, good product too. Now If I could only settle on a paint scheme for my 10e Aeldari. Thanks for the video!
How dare you make a video calling me out
Dark Orange brown looks like Rhinox Hide on the manufacturer photos, then wouldn’t look out of place basecoating Tau in real life 😂
The Rogue Hobbies set fills in some serious gaps in the range.
What are the racks on the wall you have for the pro acryl they look fantastic
So first off I thing the mini looks great, and I espechally like the way his loincloth came out and I'm actually curious how different that paint ended up looking over gold vs over grey. One thing you might want to think about incorporating is when mediocre hobbies did his green knight he took it up to a pistachio highlight(not sure on paint brand) and that wound up working really well, and pushing that wreath highlight might help with that extra pop you were talking about getting with the blood drops. Also did you consider doing some of the metallic highlights with some of the wax based gold paints as those can give an incredible shine without the desaturation of silver highlights on gold?
These look amazing mate. Really appreciated your Reflection segment. I definitely get caught up feeling that way watching too much youtube. A challenge is cool but dont go insane doing it. If you're reading this tackle individual models as a challenge - if you arent REALLY ready for it an army challenge will destroy your enjoyment.
These look soooo good! I've always wanted to make a Green Lantern themed Tau army.
I've been trying to come up with a green/jade/jungle style colour scheme for my Tau and after having a play around I can't find one I like. That is until stumbling upon this video! Such a nice colour scheme to the point I've just ordered the paints I'm missing to be able to try to emulate it.
Followed and just bought some stuff using your link. Thanks😊
You really don’t need a full mask for super glue. Just avoid sniffing it too closely. You’ll be fine.
Mantic games really do seem awesome, thanks for the video! My brother and I both played Beasts of Chaos and Bonesplitterz in AOS so we’re bummed about the recent news and looking to explore new games, we just can’t put more money and trust into GW anymore with how they change things up on you so much. Kings of War and Deadzone have really caught our eye, we’re trying to decide which one to invest in so this is really helpful!
Thanks for the link, I'll try those Swedish paper towels.
very nice blending but why would a highly intelligent race like tau, want to paint their armors like this tho?
Because they are awesome.
Having similar sculpts is going to be a issue of the past since GW is mainly jumping to having that same thing in getting rid of the modularity of their models. So I'll take cheaper minis that i can carve and kitbash over expensive single pose GW stuff.
Nearly spat my hobby water when I saw the price
There's a number of etsy sellers that make similar-functioning products; if people want something not made in China. Personally, I use a $30 Harbor Freight toolbox. It's the size of a small suitcase, and can hold a good deal of stuff, depending on how you pack it. You can even put one of the smaller Chessex mini cases in it, so you don't have to keep track of a second item. It does NOT have room for a light or magnifiers though, and keeping your paint organized is a challange.
OPR for the friendwin
What is that green
Do you smell so bad?
I recently got some Tamiya panel liner and it's magic. You don't even need to follow the panel line, it just auto-fills. It's really nice.
Yup I got multiple colors of the panel liner as well just to handle different shading use cases. It's so useful to have around for the simplicity.
may i ask who taught you to hold nippers, ive never seen them held that way is there a special reason you do that? or is it just how you learned
Love the colour scheme. Do what paint did you use for the main green/blue armour?
LOL!!! Please tell me you finished him!!! 🤣
Great Tau scheme and really nice editing. Subbed!
Rad
Jokes on you it's always humid here, but I do have a airbrush
Tau are not fish, nor communist.
Is the Ultramarine more like a macragge blue type of color?
I would love to add something about this stop comparing and just focus on improving. I build car models. I used to suck at it. I decided to figure out how to do better, and this is how I do it. I add one new skill I don't know to each build. Some examples in my world: One build I tried to do custom paint work, then I tried to add engine wiring, my next skill was to add 3D printed parts. And my current new skill I am trying to learn is scratch building a few parts. The point is I get better and better with each model.
This is the first of your videos that I have discovered. I really like your calm, relaxed, honest delivery. So many miniature painters seem to be frenetic. This made a refreshing change. Got another sub.
Do the kids come back to play w/ the toys also after your done w/the build
The only rough spot I've encountered in the range is that they don't have a proper #000000 black.
Anyone has any advice for a old painter that must now paint for a living?
1:30 what paint is this I absolutely love the color
Pro Acryl Dark Jade
