First UK Rider To Get A Traditional Cob to Grand Prix.
Those of you that supported my journey to Grand Prix and ‘Cobs on Tour’ demos will know how passionate I am about training my horses and helping others to achieve their goals. I have been hugely fortunate with the support I have had along the way, and appreciate the challenges we face on our journeys.
I love helping people and seeing horse-rider teams grow. I've created videos to share how I train horses, from basic to advanced. I'm eager to support you through these videos, offering insights into my coaching and biomechanics, making it enjoyable and achievable for all.

Thank you for your comments I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Well down with you Shetland to 😊I’ve lots more videos just trying to work my way through them to put together and upload.
I’m looking forward to following along as I’ve subscribed to your channel. I recognized you from IHAC. I’m just getting started in agility and LOVE it. We just moved up to 1st Level.
I love this video!!! I have a Shetland that was a driving pony. I’ve been doing a lot of long reining with him using many direction changes as well as moving to the sides of him. He was so confused in the beginning but making lovely progress. I’d love to see more long reining videos from you. Thanks, D
That’s very kind, thank you. Still lots to learn but having fun 😊

This is truly remarkable ❤ I would love to do dressage with my show cob … absolutely beautiful ❤ ❤❤
It would be lovely to hear how your all getting on and if any of these tips and ideas help you?
Thanks. Just got my pony back from driving training. Didn't go too well and she's been rubbed on her back so no riding for a couple weeks
Sorry to hear that. You can have lots of fun In-Hand, maybe try some agility to. I’ve a few mini videos of me playing agility if that gives you some ideas. Hope all gets better fast!
In hand, beautiful work
What a gorgeous horse!
I like the football! I watch serious people training and always end up thinking that keeping the human entertained might be the most important aspect
It’s harder than it looks 🤣 i kicked the ball out first time then tripped over it…. Finally got there!
Lovely vlog. Just bought a 3year old called Darcy and looks just like your Duke.thanks for sharing 🐎
That’s exciting hope all goes well. Keep in touch and send me a pic ❤️
Zezinho Francisco, Amém 🙏❤
This was such a special moment, I feel so lucky! To think just under 3months ago when I went to view this boy he had to come to me on his terms to all the fun things were doing today. Follow our Journey from the very beginning of going to view him, every day life training onto In-Hand and backing, all in videos. SamTurnerDressage and Facebook Samturnerdressage.co.uk
Sweet big ole baby ❤, they are such majestic creatures 💓
Hope this is useful guys if you have any questions or would Like to know more please ask. You can email or message I’d be happy to help, or visit my Facebook page or website. Samturnerdressage.co.uk
I Hope you all find this useful 😊 Here we have the start of Duke & Prince working with Poles. I will publish a more advanced video soon on how I work on straightness and the start of trot keeping the diagonals as even as possible. If you interested in more ideas or clinics please ask 😊 you can also check out my Facebook page Sam Turner Dressage.
Thank you 😊 They were made by Rob Leese they are very good quality and sit so much better than just a standard rope halter. Look him up he used to sell them Online.
Good video Sam. Where did you get the inhand head collars from?
My pony is in the garden today. So nice having her here. She comes to the back door and dozes
How lovely it’s wonderful having them at home we are very lucky ❤️
To think a few months ago Duke would back away from me, to this! It’s so rewarding and lovely to think this little horse is now feeling more comfortable living with us, he makes my ❤️ melt.
Thanks. My cob mare is similar to Duke.. not nervous but sensitive I'd say. I'm not a skilful rider, but we get on ok because she is very responsive. The thing is I wanted her to drive as well. She s great on long lines and will happily pull a tyre, but she does not like shafts. She got put off by someone 'helping'... Years ago now. Who turned out to be a bully. I think she d go in a pair, but have never got round to trying. I have driving friends but 20 miles away and we just not got round to it.
We think they had tried to drive Duke and that something has happened? I’ve not done a lot of driving but a very good friend has lived her life driving and training I can ask her for a few ideas on helping build confidence with shafts if you like? Great that your riding her, it will be a little while before I try with Duke. 😊
