False, there's like a billion things that can be passed down and hold sentimental meaning beyond it's actual purpose. Could even be just a rock your great-great-great... grandfather found on the side of the road, and the experiences it took to get to you will give it value.

It appears that the inner timing bezel on the new Geographic model does not rotate, is that correct? Also, there's no way that adding that additional 100 meters of water resistance should add a full 2 mm to case height. Sorry JLC, but we're not buying that one. Admit it, you're using an unnecessarily chunky movement on the date model. But why?
