    I have a simple question (By the way thanks alot for the great tutorial, it's fascinating!) -what does "shooting across your body" really mean? 1) you Don't shoot straight X Instead you shoot the ball so it goes to the side ✓ 2) or maybe you get the ball from your side (for example right side) with a shot to the other side (left side) with the laces? 3) "shot across your body" means like "leg moves across your body" when you strike the ball? I appreciate your hard work 🫶🏼

  • @KreiderAcademy
    @KreiderAcademy3 күн бұрын

    Great question! It’s just my way of separating the two different laced shooting techniques. While you’re striking the ball with the same part of your foot, how you shoot is different so I broke them up into two different sections. So to answer your question, it’s your second explanation. I call it across body since the ball travels from my foot across my body towards the opposite side. For example, I’m shooting with my right foot and the ball moves to the left post. Whereas a laced straight shot stays on the same side as my body. So if I’m shooting with my right foot, the ball stays toward the right or it may even travel a bit further towards the right post. I hope this makes sense and I’m happy to hear you loved the video😊🫶🏼🫶🏼

    @kreider academy how the i increase my confidence in a 1v1

  • @KreiderAcademy
    @KreiderAcademy3 күн бұрын

    My best advice for improving your confidence is spend more time on your own improving your 1v1 moves and your ability to sell the move to best the defender. The definition of confidence is having belief in your ability. So first thing you can do is improve your ability so that it is easier to have the belief in yourself. Next you want to practice 1v1s in a safe environment. Some coaches are against players dribbling, so instead work on this with a friend. Just set up a grid and go 1v1 against each other for points. This will help you improve your ability and as you improve your confidence will also go up. Just don’t get upset if you lose the game or don’t score points. You should be competitive and want to win, but the most important part is having fun and improving. In general, focus on having fun while you play and you’ll be able to relax more and be a more confident player. I know this is much easier said than done. I hope this helps😁🫶🏼

    Great videos! However, we have to be really careful when telling youth players to shoot with their laces as the basic technique. It’s not exactly correct or useful. The laces actually take up a huge part of the foot. The spot you really want to use in the basic technique is the upper inside part of the laces where the hard bony part of the foot is. I have all my players identify and feel that part of their foot. It really seems to help.

  • @KreiderAcademy
    @KreiderAcademy3 күн бұрын

    Absolutely! I’m not sure if this was part of your point or not, but I do think it’s important to call it shooting with your laces since that is the terminology commonly used for it. But you’re 100% correct on the part of the foot!I tried to distinguish the hard bony part with a visual in this video but I didn’t outright say it. I’ll try to make sure to verbally say that too in future videos! Definitely important to get that small but important detail across! I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos😁🫶🏼

    Great video. Do you flick your locked ankle during the ping too the grascitter?

  • @KreiderAcademy
    @KreiderAcademy3 күн бұрын

    Great question! It depends on what I’m trying to do with the ping. Here’s some examples. Let’s say I’m pinging a ball over the back 4 for my striker to run in behind. For this pass, I want lots of backspin to help the ball drop and stop behind the back 4. This spin helps prevent the ball from traveling through to the goalkeeper, allowing my forward to get the ball and go to goal. For this ball I would flick my ankle to help get more backspin on the ball. Here’s a different example. Let’s say I’m out wide and I want to play a diagonal ball out to my winger on the opposite side. For this ping, I want it to be lower and have less spin on it since I want it to get to my winger as fast as possible, so that the defender won’t be able to intercept it. For this type of ping I would not flick my ankle. In short, sometimes. My advice is to focus on one variation of the ping first and master it. Then you can make adjustments to your technique and make it more floaty or more driven, and have more or less spin on it depending on the game situation. I hope this helps😁🫶🏼

  • @KreiderAcademy
    @KreiderAcademy2 күн бұрын

    I think it’s important that you maintain your good technique! If you start compensating for your knee you’ll likely lose some of your power and accuracy from that! My advice would be to work with a physical therapist or a strength trainer to help strengthen your knee. Just make sure whatever you do for your knee that you’re being careful and slowly increase the resistance and strain you’re putting on your muscles around it. Do what you can but be smart and listen to your body! Best of luck! Let me know if you have any more questions or anything else I can help with😁🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

    My greatest challenge is locking my ankle. I have no idea what it means. How can I lock my ankle to kick the ball?

  • @KreiderAcademy
    @KreiderAcademy2 күн бұрын

    Locking your ankle is the term used to describe engaging all the muscles around your ankle which makes it stiff. The challenging part is keeping these muscles engaged as you make contact with the ball. To improve on this, try this drill. Have a partner a few yards from you with the ball in their hands. Have them throw the ball and you volley it back to their hands with your laces. During this keep your ankle locked. In this case your toes need to be pointed down and not come up after striking the ball. To know if you’re doing this properly, the ball should have little to no spin as it goes back to your partners hands. Do this 20-30 times with each foot everyday! I hope this helps😁🫶🏼

If you just try to shoot as hard as you can, your shots will be in accurate and actually have less power since you aren’t striking the ball as cleanly. The length of time is the time that the color is shown. The delay time is the time it is blank in between colors. So I do like 2 or 3 seconds for the length of time and then 0 seconds for the delay. And then just pick like 100 rounds or sets and boom! You should be good to go! You can always adjust these for yourself as you get comfortable! Let me know if you have any other questions😁🫶🏼
