Will this work on the TRX also
Great video. Never heard of this before
Surprising that rolling that looped end would make that kind of difference.
I finally broke down and got a press so now I can do string changes. Awesome video. Very thorough.. thank you.
great video. Would be nice to,put instructions or link in package.
Exact issue I had two weeks ago with my first time ever changing my own strings / cables , Phase 4 33 . Called Gas , Aaron got on the phone and set me right ... All measurements and poundage back to spec, cam timing perfect . Best customer service you could ask for . Since then have also changed strings and cables on my Phase 4 29 and my Triax , no issues , Aarons direction made it easy ....
Yeah glad to see a young man learning how to do this i been working on the bows for the past 40 years glad to see young people learning this.
I assume you would do the same procedure with the yoke cables, as far as putting rolls into the loops? Is there a similar affect to draw weight with the yokes being rolled up vs having unrolled from install/shipping? Ive heard of micro adjusting timing on mathews with yoke loops. Your insight is appreciated.
Really good information! Thanks!
If this is put into the loop that connects to the yoke splitter…. It seems like the tension of the cow hitch is all it’s got to hold it….. wouldn’t that work it’s way out over time?
Actually, the tension that is on the cable is all that’s needed to hold the rolls in place.
Perfect video. Many thanks for sharing the proper technics. Fantastic
Just tried this and completely jacked my bow up . I got like 1 pound difference and severely put it out of time . Lame
If your open ends are already rolled and if done correctly and the same on both ends, it shouldn’t mess up any timing. You may still have to make small adjustments to the loop end of the cable to fine tune the timing. Also, not all string manufacturers build their cables to be rolled up in this area. For those that do, this is the most effective way to make major changes.
Is there also such a Trick for PSE ? After installing my last set of Gas Ghost string my poundage Wenn down to 67 pound and there is now a 1/8 inch Distance to the stringstopper
thank you very much for this. Idk why i never thought of that. . great tip.
So helpful! Thanks guys !
Thanks for the video Aaron Took this advice from you the other day, everything is spot on now!!
Awesome video! thanks for taking the time to share this!!
Message received Jesse and Eric. I bought GAS Freakshow for my Mathews V3X 33. I am sold and will keep getting these.
I would love for you to post some pics of what the twist in the cables normally should look like on both ends.
Well, I certainly didn't even consider this😂 I will be adding this to my knowledge base
Great tips! Thanks for sharing.
I love my gas strings on my Mathews V3X I have put 1k shots through them no stretching. I am pulling 78# on 75# mods No Twisting the cables
Awesome video! I've had three sets of "Match" strings on my 29.5" Lift and the poundage drops several pounds after several hundred shots. I just ordered Y'all's strings for it yesterday!
Did you buy those strings??? I’m still using my match/zebra strings on my lift but have a gas set ready to go on
Awesome info, thanks for the excellent support!
This is a great tip. I haven't seen this anywhere
So my first go around with installing my new strings on my Phase 4 33 didn't go too well, that's because I did not follow specific procedures, needless to say I spoke to Aaron over the phone, had another go at it with a new set and everything ended up spot on, had to adjust one cable to get my cam timing proper, but once all was said and done, Peak weight was exactly 65.3, Spot on, axle to axle was 33, brace height was 6.5, my draw length was exactly 29, everything to spec the way it should be, so do yourself a favor and watch this video 250 times lol and follow specifically when he speaks on the yoke twists and The cable twists ...
Order some yesterday, I can't wait to try them
Is it normal that after installing new strings and cables to find that your peak draw weight might have dropped 4/5 pounds, and is the correction twisting the cables each cable the same amount to get that draw weight back ?
nice, helps explain some elements I did not understand.
Wut bout for recurve
Hi can you tell me which press you use. Please.
Looks like a spikes press
No serving on loops? Or use white serving?
Is the cable routing on the rollers at 12 minute mark correct, and is that the same on the phase 4 29? I am seeing discrepancy on this as I install my new GAS string.
Hello. If you could email us at [email protected], we will get a string tech to help you out with your strings and answer any questions you may have.
Dropped off my Obsession, yesterday, to get restrung. I wanted Catfish, but shop owner said he only uses GAS and won’t use any other. Interested to see the outcome.
Hello! Happy to hear that you're giving our strings a shot!
The strain is amazing. Low vibration, and noise. Very comfortable to shoot.
What color combo is that?
I believe the color combo was Rooter and Black speckled with Buckskin serving. If you are interested in purchasing Rootbeer and Black speckled, it's currently not an option on our website, but you can call us at (606)-612-5156 or email us at [email protected] and a customer service representative will be able to help place the order for you.

Had my local shop who is a GAS dealer install a set of ghost strings on my vxr 31.5 axle to axle is now at 31 and 3/4 inch anything need to be done or is that normal only have about 200 shots on them?
Hello! I would send an email to our techs at [email protected], they will be able to help you out further!
Just ordered my first set of gas bow strings. Installing later this week

This could be interesting. Put these with Nika n3? Arrows be zooming.
can yall make any length strings? ive got longbows and recurves, and a crossbow, 25 in w /24 strands ,68 in longbow, 50 in ,longbows
Hello! So these strings would just be for recurve barebows or Olympic barebows. Our custom Recuve+ strings can be made to any custom length.
It must be worth spending as much on a string as I spend on a single arrow, if it improves performance
Se fosse filmado de mais longe ficava melhor!!!
I love my 33, can't wait to put a set go Ghost strings on it but the factory match strings have been phenomenal so far, I can't justify swapping them right away like previous bows.
People can say whatever they want about price bla bla bla. I bought a set for a fairly obscure bow (Martin Carbon Featherweight). There were a few missteps but, Aaron went above and beyond to get me squared away. OK it took three tries to get it right BUT, no hassles no complaints no BS. Bow is back together and shooting great! Thank you, Aaron and GAS, I'm a customer for life.
Replaced my zebra strings on my mathews with GAS, best string on the market
