I just bought a used RD2000, and I didn't know about Zenology !!! That's great ! I don't mind the on board pianos so far, although I only spent an hour or so on it. I want to update it and get the German piano, but hopefully I'll just be satisfied with what it has for what I want to do. Thanks for the video !!! :-)

The most ironic part has to do with how the Motif and the S90 you played here are loaded with a facsimile of the “Piano 3” preset from the MKS-20. It took me from 2003 until almost exactly 20 years later before I worked that out, considering that is a Roland sound instead of a Yamaha sound. I wondered why they didn’t simply sample the CP-70 or 80 for the “E. Grand” tones, something they did manage to do by the time they got around to the Motif XS series. The first preset on the MKS-20 sounds plenty authentic to me for 1987, especially since it uses synthesis in place of sampling. I wish Roland had stuck with the synthesis method they employed instead of switching to sampling like their competitors.

This is why I’m not getting nord because nord can’t connect to the iPad and they don’t have the wooden keys, i think there is this very strange type of limiting that occurs as you play on a nord but the pianos on the yc sound way better

How do you find this keyboard keybed? When I search around, opinions seem to be like marmite. Some hate it and think the keybed is strange and don't get on with it, others love it. I have no way of trying one to judge myself. But I like the look and sounds of this keyboard.

Aftertouch on the YC would be a good idea as the Leslie can be triggered. Looking back I’m not sure there has ever been aftertouch on a stage piano. I could be wrong.

@@jakejacobs126 Neverless it would be good idea having aftertouch when using it as a master keyboard. It has controllers for pitch bend and modulation. Also not found on every stage piano. If it also would have aftertouch I propably would by it.

Are this libraries available to be used from an Android Device connected into the YC88? I just recently got one but I am not happy so far with its sounds. In comparison to my 15 years old CVP505 I find it to not match in terms on accoustic piano. Is there any way to make the accoustic pianos to feel/sound more reallistic and balanced? Thank you so much in advance.

There is an iDevice version. I’m not sure about Android. Pianoteq is my most played library (if you can call it that.) the great thing is that the phone versions give up nothing which can’t be said for sample based phone libraries.

Well, you could buy an iPad 10th generation (around 400$) + Pianoteq 8 (130$) + Ravenscroft 275 (around 30$) + Motu M2 (200$? + 30$ powered USB hub). If you use the YC88 you don't need an extra audio interface. Then you are good to go. The CVP 505 should have an audio input, so you can use the speaker system of your Clavinova. And you then have a lot of variation in piano tones and with a DAW like Cubasis (50$) or Multitrack DAW (10$) you can record your music easily in very high quality. And please take into consideration that you are accostumed to the piano tone of your Clavinova which is very good, but "only" has 4 dynamic layers. A new piano sound will take time to get used to. Pianoteq offers a very high responsiveness to the velocity (127 dynamic layers if you will) you play. This will be a very immersive playing experience for you. This video gives a great overview of iOS piano apps: kzread.info/dash/bejne/YpyCzMWcfc7Ke5s.htmlfeature=shared

Just discovered your channel. I come from a Yamaha CVP505 which sounds majestic and recently purchased a YC88, however I find the sounds are not as "real" as what I'm used to in my CVP. Any recommendation on how to make my YC sound better? I have been plugging it to CVP aux conection stereo so as to have the very same speaker config to compare and make tests. Is the piano sound used in this video the 1st program?
