Enjoyed this video and you thoughts on the T70. Not a fan of it and the T50, but the sleeper to me is the T60. Found one in excellent condition and it has become my EDC camera. It’s an aperture priority budget camera that works amazingly well.

RB, thanks to you, I just picked up a T70 for parts. It's got the battery compartment corrosion issue, but it appears to have a beautiful prism for my K1000. It should be here in a day or two. Thanks again for sharing the prism swap.

Crazy you did a video on this - I recently recieved a Canon T70 from someone who had passed away, and he had kept it in very good condition. I know its loud, the furthest thing from a subtle cameras, but for the kind of photography I like, its not a bad thing - I've enjoyed shooting with it, so much so that it will be my main camera on a trip to England this week.

I actually go pretty slowly through a roll of 36 so I can only imagine that a roll of 72 would try my patience. One solution might be to take advantage of the diptych nature of half frame and take two photos of each subject from varying angles/closeness. Really enjoy the content, and I pay attention!

Re half frame being 'lower quality' or grainier.... Technically a half frame image on film has the same grain structure as a full frame. It's just the size of the image that is smaller ie half the size. The only issue really is if you want to enlarge your prints but who is printing large images from a half frame photograph?🤔

You should seriously consider bulk loading. Beside the savings, being able to choose your own roll length is my favourite part of it. I often just load 10-15 frames per camera since that's what I'm most comfortable with. Lets me cycle through the collection more often and also get the results quickly.

I recently wanted to see how much I was overpaying so I put down a bunch of film stocks I buy on a spreadsheet and logged prices across about a dozen online shops. Boutique Film Lab was generally the cheapest followed by Samy's. BFL has free shipping if you spend more than $125 but Samy's has free shipping if you spend above $49 so depending on how much you're buying and which films, Samy's might end up cheaper. I did this in the last week and haven't bought from either yet so no idea how they are as a business, customer service, updates, shipping, etc. That said, for the most part the differences in cost are less than a dollar per roll so it doesn't really matter but here are some examples: BFL and Freestyle for Portra 160, BFL is $13.95 and Freestyle is $16.39. Samy's is $13.99. BFL and Freestyle are both $9.99 for Tri-X but Sammy's is $8.99. Delta 3200 -- BFL is $12.95, Freestyle is $14.99, and Samy's is $14.90. Gold 200 -- BFL is $9.99, Freestyle is $10.99, and Samy's is $8.99.

Me neither. Since I got the Pentax 17, I've printed a few A3+ shots. It's perfect! I think it's like anything, some value the "resolution" number more than anything, same as MP on sensors. I think half-frame is a great value if you aren't printing poster size shots.

As an east coaster ( 20 min from unique photo in Fairfield NJ ) I would just like to say that unique photo online is amazing. Unique photo in store leaves alot to be desired. Customer service is sub par at best. If you know exactly what you want, awesome, if you don't, I'd recommend going somewhere else. Dan's camera city in Allentown pa is amazing, and as always, you can't go wrong with b&h in Manhatten.

i really enjoyed using my olympus pen-d while it lasted. it was easy enough to manage the 72 frames by simply cutting the film out of the camera whenever i felt like processing some images. because the film gate is so small, very little film is wasted each time a new leader needs to be cut. i'd imagine spooling your own canisters would be an alternative solution to the too many frames issue.

I still don't understand the marketing from Pentax that the half frame camera is targeted to towards young people for posting on social media. None of them are going to shoot a roll of 72, send away for developing, and then a week or two later, edit and post on social media. Or they'll do it one time and realize they wasted $500.

I'm more or less a young film enthusiast, and I'll say I'm absolutely going to do just that. Editing is a part of photography so it doesn't matter. Not all 72 shots are going to be good or may not need editing. 500 is a chunk of change, but also at the same time I'd gladly pay that for a brand new camera with warranty and also from a respected company. Not saying that I'm every young film user, but I really feel that if you look past the price point it's well worth it. Also as someone who works in manufacturing and development of various products, I think the price is very reasonable for what you get
