  I'm planning on buying my first ever MacBook soon, and I'm agonizing on which color to get. Space Gray seems right up my alley, but I've heard people talk about all the noticeable fingerprints and oils dirtying up the unit. Does anyone here who owns the space gray have any issues with scuffs, or visible problems with their MacBooks in Space Gray?

  I've always had silver and now I wanted to change and bought the macbook pro m2 pro space grey. Probably because I've been used to silver for so many years, but I like space gray much better. More professional and elegant

  I went to buy the space grey, and when I saw the silver, I had to buy it. I never saw an actual silver computer. Past lighter macbooks weren't thise light. It's almost white. Like a silver dollar. Amazing.

  I have a silver 2014 air and it still looks awesome today. I use it everyday. It would be a difficult choice for the next purchase. It feel like to me the grey getting old faster or so? Really not sure.

  Apple is discontinuing silver grey so this would mean that it's the last opportunity to buy it in this color but this also would mean that you'll find no accessories in future to match this color. Silver is iconic. Then it's typical Apple, grey seems a common pc.

  I noticed the silver around the screen bezels reflects more light and stands out. The space grey the grey colour blends with the black bezels.

  Silver looks better, but space gray might be less distracting when you are trying to focus only on the video display... Space Gray: the video display/monitor itself "stands out" more as the rest of laptop fades away into background/periphery (including the fine aluminum bezel around the display's edges) due to being a darker color. Keyboard keys aren't as vibrant (slightly harder to read). May not match some Apple accessories (keyboards, power adapters). Silver: has nicer contrast against the black accents (e.g. keyboard), looks slightly better overall, back of laptop looks better, text of keyboard keys stand out more (due to contrast), looks more like an Apple laptop, brighter color of the aluminum may be more distracting in your peripheral vision when focusing on the video display only (including an aluminum bezel around the video display that is a bit lighter in color, and therefore more visible/stands out more).

  Keyboard well is black for both models from this version onwards (unlike previous versions when the well color matched the body color).

  What color is the Apple logo? Is it supposed to be black or mirror? I actually have the 16" space gray and I can't tell if the logo is a mirror or very shiny black.

  I went with Silver since I already have a work laptop with Space Grey colour. Felt like I could identify my personal laptop easily if I had better colours. Also, Silver looks fresh and new for some reason

  i cant speak on 2008 but yes its basically the same as the old models! I had a 2014 model that was the same. gives a nice retro vibe

  As an ex-Apple employee, I am surprised by the number of people preferring silver. 90 percent of people went for space gray in Intel Macs in my days. I like the outside of silver, but the inside of space gray.

  It doesn't matter. Both colors amazing and you'll always wonder about the other one. If you have to ask the question then it doesn't matter. If you have it, enjoy it, and use it! Most people out there don't even have the luxury of this dilemma!

  This is my first Macbook. When I saw them at Best Buy they only had space grey in all the sizes. I thought the appearance seemed dark. I always remembered Macs as bright and happy. I saw the large monitor next to the laptops in the sliver and it seemed like a better color. So I ordered silver. Now that I have it, the silver is extremely bright on the outside appearance. So I've been second guessing. However some of the comments below have me thinking about keeping the silver. I love the keyboard silver combo inside. Plus I can always get a skin to personalize the appearance and protect the exterior from scratches. I had the same dilemma when. I bought my Tesla. I bought white, and I can wrap it in any color if it gets boring.

  I have had macbooks in both colors. Space grey will bore you at some point. But there is something special about that silver thing that you can never get enough .

  Totally agree with this! Space gray- scratches whether minor or big are visible especially when it ages. I've got the same dilemma on my Apple watch. Went from Silver to Space Gray, now? scratches are really damn visible, it makes your device look old. Anyhow, Have went to Silver for my MBP 14! It never gets old! Team Silver! Horaah!
