    Thank you for this information! Does "face-to-face" have a legal definition? I'm assuming a virtual consultation would be considered "face-to-face." If the client doesn't have his or her camera on, would that be considered face-to-face?

  • @mydietitianjourney
    @mydietitianjourneyАй бұрын

    Hi Brenda, For face-to-face, this would indicate you are live with the patient in real, direct time. If conducting telehealth, you would utilize a modifier (like modifier 95) to indicate synchronous audio and video along with a specific place of service (02 or 10). Some insurances do not cover audio only (no camera, via phone).

    Hi-- I am trying to bill UMR and they dont pair with any electronic claim systems (availity, claimMD etc) when I called the only option is paper claims-agh! with that being said, how do I navigate box 13?

  • @mydietitianjourney

    With box 12 and 13, you would indicate "signature on file" if you have the patient's signature on file in another way (i.e. through your practice documents/policies)

    Thank you! I don't send a 24-hour recall anymore. I do a 24-hour recall within the session. I found that it was more efficient to do in the session since I needed to ask a lot of clarifying questions to follow-up on the recall submitted prior.

    How can we confirm a client is part B not part c (Advantage) if we are still not contracted with private insurance. Medicare part B coverage for MNT for kidney disease is so confusing, it says it covers non-dialysis chronic renal insufficiency GFR 13-50, so this is stage 3 in ICD 10 codes. Right? And if a client has more than 50 then MNT is not covered, right?

    For SimplePractice, the plan includes 10 claims at essential; however, each claim after that would be $.25. If you don't have patients yet, you could always start with a lower plan and then upgrade if needed. Medicare can be billed via SimplePractice

    Depending on how your contracts are set up, you will still need to list both NPIs. The type 2 would be the group (likely billing provider on a CMS 1500) and then your individual would be you as the rendering provider.

    Hi! I love your content, I'm so lost in the beginning of this journey. Do you have a video of the resources we can give to our patients? I think there´s so much I need to do before jumping into a private practice but at the same time I think maybe I don´t need to have everything ready and resolved (materials, content, a good feed on instagram, etc)

  • @mydietitianjourney
    @mydietitianjourney4 ай бұрын

    Hi! Glad the content has been helpful! You definitely don't need to have everything ready! I wasn't using social media much when I started (mostly did in-person type marketing with events and networking). I don't have a specific video on resources, but I built out my resources as I went in private practice. I have go to links I usually send like the American Heart Association and the CDC (specific pages based on questions). I also have a Google Drive folder with different PDF handouts and handouts I have created over the years. Even if you don't have a resource ready just yet, most times, I end up sending resources after an appointment (so if I have it I send it and if I don't I find or create it)!

    if i'm not using an online platform to do my the consults, and doing phonecall appointments, should I send all the paperwork to sign to patients via email? Is it required for patients to sign paperwork before doing an appointment with me? or is a doctor's referral enough

  • @mydietitianjourney

They asked me to resubmit for credentialing as a “group” however I don’t have a group NPI and my EO insurance is not for my LLC, it’s only for me. Should I just choose a single provider, use my SS # and resubmit using a W9 that is not for the LLC. (This LLC is not just for nutrition, it’s for a previous product based business)

    For the US, You will need to connect with a university that is accredited by ACEND. They will require the following: 1. sending your bachelor and masters course work to be evaluated by a verification entity in the US (ex: WES) 2. They will let you know which additional classes you will need to do to get the DPD ( verification statement) 3. You will need to do an internship ( usually one year) in approved placements. 4. You will need to sit for the board registration exam Once you pass you will be a registered dietitian and can practice in the US. I hope this was helpful

    Thanks guys for what you do, I keep wondering why you do it. So much time for the benefit of others. Graduated in august with master’s in nutrition, became an RDN one year before. Always wanted private practice when I went back to school at age 46. Following right along with all your directions, appreciating that you have worked through the mistakes already. Got my EIN yesterday and I’m officially on my way. By the way, I briefly looked for a job thinking I needed some experience but they want experience or are just terrible jobs.
