    Hi there, yes that’s normal. Everything moves slower in Iceland :) they have rolling admissions but I’m sure they will get back to you by the end of the month. I know that the admissions people meet at the end of each month. Jobs are easy to come by as long as you want to work. Pay is good too

    Loved living in Rhodanie. It was actually totally renovated in 2000. My room also on the 3rd Floor in the East building was brand new. At the time FMEL put the Americans there and Fallaises. I wish that I could go back to work and live. The stipend hasn’t changed in 20 years which is a little shocking.

    @@SolivagantJules I know! I’ve been feeling very nostalgic lately and watching a lot of Lausanne, UNIL, and EPFL content. I was particularly looking for EPFL tours. The campus has changed so much. It was the most amazing time, and maybe the worst in some ways. Some of the exchange students, a professor, and the woman in charge of the bourse was quite mean, actually. And, it was tough adjusting. I should have been more adventurous and made Swiss friends. But, I loved my room in Rhodanie, the environment, the accessibility to everything by train or bus. I would do it all again! I want to go back! You probably missed out on the Manora buffet at Place St. Francois? It was always so good. As were many of the restaurants. We ate a lot though at Chez Mario (best pizza), and my favorite Ma-jong. Santé à toi!

  • @SolivagantJules
    @SolivagantJules4 ай бұрын

    @@NarcFreedom the campus is so beautiful! I remember we had city bikes to use and that was our main mode of transport but they would always end up in Ouchy. I would say I started making Swiss friends toward the end but Rhodanie was all foreign so it was natural to make friends through our housing situation. We almost never ate out, I think maybe three times total, but we had huge dinners and lots of wine. It was the best time and I felt like I had a close community. Too bad I didn’t do a campus tour!!! Maybe I’ll go back someday

  • @SolivagantJules
    @SolivagantJules Жыл бұрын

    If you’re aggressive and competing, you’re obviously an expert. I would go with the higher flex. You’re probably really strong too, so you can handle it. Kind of like I mentioned in the video, because of the walk mode and hybrid pivot system, they feel softer than a regular alpine boot, so keep that in mind too! Good luck 🌨️

    I have a 1970 truck camper. Awesome vintage campers. The vent at the top of the wall above the fridge is a heat vent for when you have the refrigerator running on gas. Think of it as a chimney vent for 🔥 heat. 3 way electric/battery/ propane gas refrigerator have to have two vents in and out. Happy camping 🏕

    For the bottoms baselayer or long johns I usually get the full length ones because they are typically cheaper. Then I cut them about 3-4 inches past the knee. I hand sew up the cut edge. I learned to hand sew on YT, my stitches look terrible but it holds.

  • @SolivagantJules
    @SolivagantJules Жыл бұрын

    I definitely have done that too, I have a pair of synthetic patagonia mens bottoms that were full length and wayyyyyy too long for me anyways so I just cut them. Didn't stitch them because they're synthetic and are holding without losing thread. Repairing your own gear and learning how to sew though is such a valuable skill - I fix my friends clothes all the time! Good on you :)

    How wet do you get? I bought a Canada goose citedel jacket and the Canada goose snow pants, will that be okay for snowboarding/skiing?

  • @SolivagantJules
    @SolivagantJules2 жыл бұрын

    I mean that depends on the weather and also what kind of skiing you do. If it’s really coming down, you may have snow pile up while on the lift. You’ll probably stay mostly on groomers so you don’t have to worry about getting in wet and deep powder. Sounds like you have a rad set up. Read the tag to see if it’s all water repellent :)

  • @Spiceysec

    @@SolivagantJules it’s water resistant but if it gets too wet I don’t want to ruin the down inside the jacket and pants. The documentation is quite blurry when it comes to mentioning how water resistant they are. I know they are meant for snow but water would usually be already ice/snow at -30 Celsius and below. I may need to find an alternative to wear. Do you have any suggestions of brands? Thanks.
