nerdSlayer Studios is a channel that produces high quality, in-depth, educational documentaries about dead, or dying games. nerdSlayer has been playing virtual worlds for 23 years, has alpha/closed tested every major MMO, and has consulted on multiple virtual projects too. I bring with me, a wealth of information, that I augment through the support of my strong base of detectives on this channel. The channel being a collaborative effort means we get to arrive at conclusions and solve "crimes" together through the use of the Death of a Game series!
If you want to learn more about your favorite virtual worlds, virtual worlds in general, and the many concepts and mechanics that are inside of them, this is the right channel for you :).

What is the song in the background from ~2:40 to ~4:30?
Will you plan to talk about item exchange market and second market for in game items. Ii is kind of related to this but it can be talked about in other ways.
I enjoy the fact that with everyone at Bungie gone, the only one left over was a guy that was the equivalent of a reddit mod XD
ITS FAR FROM DEAD!!!!
Ill never play another hi rez game again.
An always Online game got shut down becasue the servers got pulled. 20 years later The Crew1 has the same fate and the new demo of TDU:SC suggests that its also only playabale with an internet connection and a working server on the other side.
I didn't see it after scrolling a fair bit, so on the off chance someone stumbles upon this - google "Homecoming"
I loved this game 😭😭😭
Please do death of a game Defiance 2050
Loved this game
Also probs cause not on steam
It’s wild, how much you didn’t mention. Such as they never made any of the assets for the game. Just stuff from the Unreal Engine workshop, and including the UI also came from the workshop too. That’s not necessarily bad but, it’s show they’re laziness. They had issues with their own name of the game, another country was suing them or something like that about the game’s name is the same as their company, I don’t remember the full details about that. And 2 or 3 of the trailers were copies of other game’s trailers. From voice lines that were done using A.I.. The same shots from a new call of duty trailer and more
Death of a game: KSP 2. A story of over promising, hostile takeovers, and corporate greed. Would love to see it!
If anyone has watched Justice League Dark: Apokolyps War, they will know that the suicide squad will die as soon as they stepped in Metropolis. They will definitely need a higher power to survive
Still playing the game and having a blast, then que times a really low too, everyone's welcome 😁
I would like to see a jrpg gundam game.
I know this is an "old" video but I cannot overstate the emmense disappointment I have for this game. It truly was a royal hunk of shit, capitalizing on nostalgia and hope of players who cherished a beloved franchise. I bet nobody who even worked on Back 4 Blood had even played L4d2 before. This is why the game industry is dead. They always promise big and fail to deliver anything but hype.
Have you ever heard of world's adrift? Game died pretty quickly
Man, I was in elementary when RO became so popular in PH - first time in my life I stayed until night time at an net shop. I remembered getting scolded by my mom for coming home so late. But until this day, I often go back to looking for RO bgm playlist and often plays them in background.
NSO is the best faction. Beep boop mudafoka.
Still waiting on the third game. Still.
Out of all the deaths viewed so far, Spiral Knights was the only one that caught me unaware. I thought it had the makings of greatness. I don’t think I was wrong about it, either.
Noobs of Newerth, like so many games, are just fads chasing the game that started it. So boring and predictable. I called it being a failure when it launched, and the fanboys were predictable.
It's been so sad seeing this game die, I love this game and the fact all this is with VERY LITTLE updates is just depressing.
New world is the dark souls of mmos
KZread algorithm brought me here, and I watched the video as I was one of the players who have this title a try. Saying that 40 people is too many and you can't get that many people to play at the same time is rubbish. Just yesterday I flew my Raven Navy Issue in a full fleet (256 folks) in Eve Online, at the same time there were two other smaller fleets with us, so around 600 people. Enemies had around 800 ships in their fleets. For one battle, without scheduling, just a ping on comms. So if the gameplay is there, people are there. Wildstar turned our to be tedious, loads of farming, PvP was unbalanced, PvE was stałe,and there was no new content. Truth is that most of people I played with just went back to WoW - until this day they make best traditional MMO large scale PvE content (raids)
Why do games have to die? 😔
Still able to play on homecoming server
as a kid on my first pc i started game UT 1999 and fell in love even tho i never played multiplayer coz i wasnt skilled enough :D kinda sad to see Epic putting UT into the shadow realms for god no reason -_-
It was a real shame to see this game shut down. Though without the addition of new worlds, I did actually run out of content back in the day. I remember when they added the missions that had players team up to take on an area infected by the big bad, and running around trying to look for more content. The player classes were also fun to play around with too, though I particularly liked the engineer. I'm definitely glad to have experienced it while it was around.
They should have had the Gotham Knight in the same universe as Arkham, as a sequel to ending of Arkham night so it’s makes sense in terms of what happens after Batman’s “death “. Make Suicide Squad in an alternate universe so it won’t mess with our main Arkham one. And at some point just make them meet each other in multiverse somehow.
This game would’ve been amazing as a non mmo, pay to play with cosmetic only micro transactions, regular multiplayer game. I loved it as a kid but it only took a few days before I was at effectively a pay wall unless I wanted to grind for Literal days to even progress an inch
that War Thunder ad caught me off guard
This game was so cool as a kid
UT99 is my favorite version. Good game music. It was simple to play. Why are these current games so ,,, busy, control wise? History.... I already had played the first unreal all the way through. At 40 years of age I joined a team that played the CTF low gravity instagib setup back in 1999. I played very well. We had fun. I liked the map Barn Burner. When 3 came out the team was gone. I tried it. The physics of how the body moves had changed so much. Plus having vehicles to manage.... Bye Bye. I didn't have the skill to compete against all the young players. I watch videos of people playing Fortnite. No way am I going to try that. It's too,,,,, busy. I like Golf With Friends. LOL.
