@@stephenwilliams4583 lots of variables here. #1 never count out Kyle Larson. That would be a mistake. #2 SVG has been flat out not good on restarts (that’s his own words) if it stays green he’s my pick but he won’t be given the room he was last year. He will get beat and banged more. Last year there was no stage brakes. How him and the team choose to handle those will be vital. If there are yellows late I worry about guys moving him. On talent alone on a street course he’s obviously our pick but it’s by no means in the bag.

I hear a lot of people keep saying that things fell Shane‘s way last year in Chicago when it comes to strategy which is the exact opposite of what happened. As others have mentioned below, the shortened race put everybody at the front back in the field because other guys had already pitted before NASCAR called it. Shane was back to 18th with only 20 laps to go. he then had to pass 18 cars in under 20 laps to get to the front and win. Then when you finally got in front they called a caution just before he passed Hayley, so we then had to go back to 2nd and do that overtake again. Then he got out in front was driving away, and then they pulled another caution so they brought him back to the field again. He still then drove away and one under the green white checker process. Nothing went Shane‘s way last year but still managed to get the win, and in the process he said the three fastest laps of the race, with his fastest lap being almost a second faster than anybody else on the day. if he gets a decent car in both races and it doesn’t fall apart on him, or someone doesn’t deliver wreck him, I think he could be fighting for the win. Man, I hope he does because it would just be amazing if he won again. Thanks for your program guys. It’s great to listen to all the way over in Australia. Hope you enjoy the weekend. :-)

So this track is still easy compared to what he's been consistently running since he was 19. Even in sub par machinery he will get it moving faster than the others. If you guys are scared, get a dog. Let's call for the SVG sweep! Listen, as you guys said, the ciup cars are spec cars and they're only a few tenths apart. Drivers can make a huge difference, you mentioned the strategy potentially helping SVG. That was 100% not the case, with the rain shortening he got pushed back to like 18th or something. And he literally passed all those cars to take the lead. No one else even came close to passing a third of the amount of cars he passed. He won two of the three road courses in Xfinity this year, and was one of the best two or three cars, and was the best car at the one he lost. Svg is the betting favorite on Sunday, and it's probably going to be the betting favorite on Saturday. So if he's everyone else's favorite, why isn't he the favorite of the two guys who are fans of him? Stop being a bunch of weenies

Nothing wrong with being a guy on your sofa. At the end of the day most of these teams prioritize wins. Trackhouse has him under contract. Trackhouse and Kaulig work together but don’t have an “official” alliance. Trackhouse more than likely has a third charter. One win… yes JUST ONE SINGLE WIN is an automatic playoff qualifier regardless of how you do on the other tracks. Playoffs mean more media exposure, more sponsor exposure and more opportunity. My guess is Trackhouse will value that more than anything else. SVG is more than likely CUP bound. I also think AJ is likely CUP bound which leaves lots of open seats. Thanks you! Your kind words are appreciated as is your feedback! - Most likely out come is SVG in the third Trackhouse car but if Bob Pockrass is throwing it out there that there’s at least a chance he stays in Xfinity it’s probably something to consider. - Zane Smith likely had to much backing to go down to xfinity and will likely land in cup. That being said I’d take Zane on Kauligs Xfinity team. - Kaulig has no blue chip prospects. For the long term future of your team you need to get younger. AJ can bail you out for another 3-5 years maybe 6 but 6 years from now AJ will be 47. If the difference between getting Eckes and not getting Eckes is starting him in cup it might have to be a gamble they need to take. I would feel far more comfortable with him in xfinity and he doesn’t have a ton of sponsor support which isn’t ideal. Kinda akin to Grosjean and Bordais even Jan Magnussen and Bergmeister (gobshite, still haven't forgiven him for 2009 Laguna Seca lol) way back when - they were more than 'just racers' to many of us before they arrived in the US and it's been good to see them earn their stars n' stripes, as it were.

@@ryanyount3250 I've been thinking about that, spoke to a colleague that races amateur touring cars (I'm Danish, he's a Brit - figured there may be a difference). My opinion on the lack of popularity is likely skewed but being honest - we do not appreciate the concept of 'rubbing is racing' in the same way in *anything* but Touring Cars. Since I was a teenager (I'm 42..) the 'naming all the sponsors' and being effectively a brand spokesman is not something we like, as fans, at all.. We have shown love to those who are people not pawns. We've been sent a lot of pawns and with the time they've been given to introduce themselves to us, with a mic, they've spent commercialising. Normal and accepted in the US, not outside it where it's the sport and not the business that we watch for. We like the personal stories, the driver to talk about themselves, not use the time to promote products and a little self deprecation always helps a bit more than it should. There may well have been drivers who were talented and great people but they didn't (for the most part) show us the second part in the brief time they had to introduce themselves - they always picked the commercial side and we, as mentioned, don't appreciate that the same way US fans have become accustomed to it. It's often the person we support more than a team, we just support that team because that's who 'he' is racing for. The 'of the drivers in my branded car, who do I like'. On top of that there's also an element that to be entirely honest - a lot of series we watch just to watch and enjoy the racing - we don't care about *any* of the drivers but are just watching to enjoy the racing - their nationality doesn't really matter - it's car 46 or car 15 with 3 drivers in it.. US drivers get plenty of love in the various GT/WEC series whenever they come to town. I guess professionalism is seen differently in the two places, the US is a little more chilled in terms of fanbase - they're incredibly passionate (more so than many of us) about their drivers and teams but they aren't held to as high a standard as they are here. Plenty of European drivers have made the route the other way and pretending talent isn't a factor is also a little dishonest, as would pretending money has nothing to do with it - so I appreciate it works both ways. Alexander Rossi wasn't world class, Conor Daly, Ferrucci - I mean ok we got JJ in the Garage 56 at LeMans but that's sort of an exhibition thing. Dempsey had a leg up but come on - it ain't as easy as you think to be the cute doctor from tv that the wife likes and then be taken seriously amongst our heroes - and get results. But because he was somebody when he arrived he wasn't busy selling us his sponsors - we got to hear more out of him than 'my team, my sponsors, my manufacturer, my fuel supplier'. We we getting to know who he was, not who paid him. So an American in a Porsche will always get some love if they do well, we know that ain't an easy porker to wrangle. If nothing else, it may speak more to what a fan thinks than any 'fact of the matter' but that's my few -cents- dollars on the subject.

He (SVG) wasn’t far off AJ times and like you said he was one of the best.

The best guy SVG could be paired with right now in all of NASCAR is AJ for experience and transitional reasons.

SVG has done this all year. It’s just symptomatic of no prior experience and limited practice. He out qualified the 88 who is in similar circumstances.

Rain is forecast for Sunday? That’ll mix things up if that proves to be the case.

Last I checked showed 40% chance on Sunday. So that certainly opens the door for more rain racing! Would really shake things up

Hey guys, hope you’re having a good week. First AJ had every right to be furious with his team, his comments were right on target. Next, I haven’t heard or seen anything on this idea, but I’d like Justin Marks to hire Rodney Childers and give him a leadership role, if we end up with a Trackhouse/Kaulig teaming in 25 (see other post) that could help both teams. Also, would NASCAR allow TH to buy a couple of Supercar Cars to practice with? I know they can’t practice with the Cup or Xfinity cars anymore but does that mean they can’t buy a non-NASCAR certified car and work on their race craft? Of course I’m thinking SVG on ovals here, but it wouldn’t hurt some of the others to learn from SVG and AJ on how to get around the road courses. Just wondering….

Unfortunately Nascar had very strict testing rules. Cup drivers can not practice on any Nascar sanctioned track and they have rules on cars as well but I’m not as familiar with those. Only way for SVG to get better is with more seat time. Running other series would be okay though. CARS tour ad an example would be okay

Chris Rice has been pretty adamant that there will be no merger and as it stands now they don’t even have an official alliance they just work together in some areas. I think it’s about time they at least make an official alliance. Sounds like Kaulig is considering moving AJ back to cup and possibly pursuing Eckes according to Bob Pockrass.

You will get no argument from me. Anything less than AJ back in cup next year let’s you know they aren’t serious about improving their program. AJ is just a flat out better driver than Hemric in every way. (Shawn)

The biggest question for me is does Trackhouse prepare the car and then give it to College racing or does colleague prepare the car for track House because if House is preparing the car, then that explains the performance difference between the two drivers

  • @KauligNation

As far as I know trackhouse has not prepared any of the Kaulig equipment despite some people suggesting so
