    What is the output voltage at the GDT side of driver? Im using FGY75N60SMD igbts with 20V max GE voltage, so I'm not sure if my GDT with 15:15:15:15:15 ratio for full bridge setup is good..

  • @latenightprojects
    @latenightprojects4 ай бұрын

    for the UD2.7 driver the output is the same as the incomming powersupply which is 24VDC. if the GDT ratio is 1:1 then the output of the GDT will be around +-24V. That under no load tho and under load it does decrease. While it is over your igbts rated voltage it still should be fine tho do add tvs diode on the gate and maybe one or 2 less turns on the secondary of GDT. It is such a high voltage on the output bc its needed to turn igbts on faster and fully and necesery for igbt bricks or igbts with high gate charge.

    I've just received that UD 2.9 version from Aliexpress but I've not tested it yet! I don't have a scope! I need to buy one. But your THT version looks great. I wanted to build mine too like you but seeing that Aliexpress already have them with SMD components, I prefer to buy them. Show us another video how you test your UD 2.7 with your new scope & how you tune your OCD, that will be great. Also, if you don't mind, do attach your THT gerber version like that it might help some out there who wants to go ahead & do the same built as yours. I wouldn't mind myself doing it as I honestly love your purple PCB for your UD 2.7. Grateful if you could upload it . Thanks

    Oh my God! There you go with your DRSSTC. Dude, I thought I would be in advanced with my full bridge DRSSTC but it seems that you took the lead ahead of us, I mean seeing that Labcoatz was taking so long to make his full bridge drsstc, I'll do mine quickly but you went ahead of us! Your Tesla coil looks amazing, it's awesome dude. That's the way to go instead of wasting time on sstc, half bridge or whatever. My best coil was a half bridge DRSSTC which worked really well & it's still alive till date. My parts which I've ordered are being delayed & that's why I'm late to construct mine. Man! How did you tune that OCD? Of course, an oscilloscope is a "MUST HAVE". Anyway, congrats for that awesome DRSSTC. Mind blowing as it was not very long ago when several among us were on the same boat doing SSTC's. We were all dreaming about reaching that full bridge DRSSTC & there you are finally. Awesome, just awesome dude. Keep going.

  • @latenightprojects

    Thanks! It took a while to build and solve problems along the way. Still not completely problem free but works super well for a first DRSSTC. Had to up the power a lot after changing the cap bank which in turn is causing some heating issues so ill have to find a way to solve those. The OCD tunning wasnt too hard, i first aproximatly calculated the peak primary current and set the ocd close to it. Currently its around 1kA. Its twice what i originally designed everything for lol. But yea i must say without a scope id be having a lot of dead igbt bricks.
