    This projector gets the job done pretty well. kzread.infoUgkxS9P8zTOcmQg-hH0QeUi3dspOLyYgQ6dH Bear in mind it's a mini projector but all things considered the picture quality is pretty good. The attached photo is of the projector projecting onto my white closet doors. I still have not messed with the settings but I can't wait for our first family movie night on a larger scale. If you have issues with volume not working with your firestick, go into volume settings and you will find your solution there.

    Is there any portable projector that is quiet?

  • @JustinFeldhouse
    @JustinFeldhouse Жыл бұрын

    There are, but non of them are silent. All projectors need to be cooled and most of the times that’s done with a fan. The thing is, smaller fans like the ones in portable projectors make a more audible sound most of the times. Depending on your threshold and usage some models might fair better than others.

    These days you can throw a Amazon fire tv stick to anything and don't have to worry about operating system of the projector. It matters the most the lumens and the resolution, right? With projectors with build in Android TV you pay more for that unfortunately.

    I have the xgimi mogo pro. It is bright and sharp for a portable. As a projector it is ok. The colors look better than many portable single chip dlp machines using a color wheel. Space ( Lack of space ) was a major consideration for me. I tried a number of portables. I thnk there are very real limitations that will not allow them to deliver dedicated projector home theater performance. I bought a $250 dollar full size LCD projector and projected to its minimum size of 50" . It has been more satisfying than any of the portables. All of them costing more. Some costing more than twice as much. Theres a sense of effortlessness, warmth and color accuracy that the cheap $250 full size projector delivered on my 50" screen that portables can't approach because of the said limitations. The only portable dlp projector I have that was engineered with fewer ( on average ) mis-steps in colors is the Aaxa M6. But it doesn't use a color wheel. It makes use of 3 dedicated color engines.

  • @JustinFeldhouse
    @JustinFeldhouse3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks! The M2e supports wireless display mirroring, so you can cast wireless that way. I'm not sure if the desync issue is prevelant when casting from an Apple device, but you can always play via a USB stick, desperate ChromeCast or USB-C/HDMI cable.

    I'd also be interested how this projector fares vis-a-vis the MoGo Pro overall!

  • @JustinFeldhouse
    @JustinFeldhouse3 жыл бұрын

    Both are great projectors but bot have their strong and weak points. Overall, the MoGo Pro isn't as bright and as snappy focusing compared to the M2e and has a higher input lag. The Android TV OS on the MoGo Pro gives it a huge advantage over the M2e. But then again, Netflix also isn't available. In both cases you'd need a separate media player or Chromecast to make it do everything you'd want. It's pretty much a tie depending on your preference over software / hardware specs. Both are excellent portable* projectors, but only the MoGo Pro is truly portable (as long as you have a working internet connection).

    Nice review ! I had the M2 and while I loved it the main feature I was looking for didn't work well ( the horizontal or 4 point keystone correction made the image laggy, like it was 15/20 fps... ) So I was wondering if it's fixed in this model ? Does the 4 point keystone impact the image ?

  • @JustinFeldhouse
    @JustinFeldhouse3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks! In the brief time I tested the projector I didn't notice any slowdown or hiccups when utilizing any form of keystone or 4-corner correction. To be fair, most of my testing was with, at most, either vertical or horizontal keystone. So, if the problem only occurred with 4-corner correction at a couple of minutes, there's a big chance I didn't get to see it. Any form of keystone is destructive towards image quality, so when setting projectors up, I always try to minimize using it as much as possible.

  • @AshLOVEsTECH
    @AshLOVEsTECH3 жыл бұрын

    I tried both, and can confirm the m2e does not suffer from this half as much as the m2. It's like the processor in the M2 isn't powerful enough. I kept the m2e over the M2 for this very reason.

    Do you have any thoughts on ANKER NEBULA Mars II Pro projector?

  • @JustinFeldhouse
    @JustinFeldhouse3 жыл бұрын

    I haven't gotten the chance to try out any of Ankers projectors but looking at the specs I think it's a solid projector. Only issues I have is that the Mars II Pro focusses more on brightness as opposed to resolution. I'd appreciate a FHD resolution more, but that's for my usage and preference. It all depends on the viewing distance, size, and ambient light. For me, I'd still darken my room as much as possible with a portable projector.

    Justin, can you test auto keystone correction on your M2e while the projection mode is set to front ceiling mode and tell me if it gives you any problems? Mine just makes a clicking noise and never adjusts the image shape

  • @JustinFeldhouse
    @JustinFeldhouse3 жыл бұрын

    Just tried it out and it works normally for me. The clicking noise might be the projector automatic refocusing. The auto keystone does however only work on the vertical axis, if you need the horizontal keystone you'll need to switch to manual keystone correction ;)

  • @macsawall1288
    @macsawall12883 жыл бұрын

    @@JustinFeldhouse Hmm ok thanks. I accidentally ordered 2 of these projectors and they both have the same issue. It isn’t the auto focus as I have that turned off. If I go to the settings menu and watch the keystone values, I can see it he numbers toggling back and forth in sync with the clicking noises

    In 3.30: I'm not sure if I can help but maybe you could try with Zendure SuperHub NS. Again I don't know if is that what you looking for, hope I can help. I'm planing on buy this projector and I'll bypass Viewsonic software through a Chromecast in the back and problem solved for me. Yes is more accesories and anothe thing to buy but I really like the design and the brand give me confidence. • @JustinFeldhouse
    @JustinFeldhouse3 жыл бұрын

    I've never heard of the Zenzure SuperHub before! While it does seem to do what I was looking for, it doesn't output enough power for the M2e, unfortunately. Thanks for the tip though! I'll try to do some comparisons in the future :)

  • @induslove
    @induslove2 жыл бұрын

    Yes, I recommend Google TV with Chromecast. The nice thing is that the Chromecast can be powered via the USB-C port, one less cable. The USB-A on the projector does not have enough power for the Chromecast. The Viewsonic software on this projector is garbage. I prefer my projectors to be dumb, I can make them smart with an Apple TV, Firestick, or Chromecast.

    I bought it and let me tell you few things.. This projector runs android 6.0, it has 1Gb RAM, and the aptoide store is useless. While you can install external apps, none all of them will work as expected. Netflix is included, the KZread app included, which is not the original one, crashes randomly. Install kodi? You can, it crashes too, impossible to use it. Well, what about connecting a laptop or external media centre, it works, from time to time, the projector firmware becomes unresponsive, so no volume, no focus, nothing. When it works, it is great, when it is not working, which is the majority of the time, it is extremely annoying. They really need to rethink the hw specs and/or make a major improvement on the firmware.

  • @JustinFeldhouse
    @JustinFeldhouse3 жыл бұрын

    On paper the specs aren't amazing, I agree. But in my video I address the issues with the smart platform it uses. Netflix is available though and works fine for me. I haven't encountered the projector becoming unresponsive. Maybe you have a defective model?

  • @n0n3able
    @n0n3able3 жыл бұрын

    @@JustinFeldhouse it might be defective. However, i started the process to return the unit. Xiaomi has released a HD Projector in the market, similar price if you know where to buy it online, among other features... hdr10, Android tv 10, however poor HW specs too. If the refund process goes ok, i will take the money and i will give it a try to xiaomi one. I would only keep viewsonic if the issues got fixed (normal consumer expectations), the firmware is rebuilt up to the point it is highly stable. I suspect it will take while, so, in the short term, i will move to another vendor.

    Is it possible to send content to it through chromecast without an actual wifi network? Lets say you go somewhere without any internet access and hang up a sheet and use this projector, can you stream content to it? Regular chromecast doesn't work in this scenario in my experience

  • @JustinFeldhouse
    @JustinFeldhouse3 жыл бұрын

    As far as mobile projectors go, I still believe this projector offers a lot for the price. The brightness is fairly low and the chip is pretty small compared to dedicated multimedia projectors like an Optoma HD146X that offer a much better image. But for a portable option this still is a great choice. My review wasn't sponsored or paid. Even had to ask XGIMI to even mention my name in the video that they re-uploaded to their channel... 😅
