Thank you! I'm a therian, and I'm making an outdoor den. I want pillows and a mat to sit on, but I want to leave as little from indoors as I can outside

if you collect your cattails and then hang them up to dry for a week before you use them they will pre-shrink. Then when you're ready to use them, soak them so they are playable again and then make your weave. they won't shrink anymore and your mat will stay tighter. 😊

I’m doing something wrong lol my axe doesn’t even hardly dent the wood. Brand new. Do I need to sharpen it or something

  • @bushcraftandpoetry9469

Probably not a sharpness issue unless it's truly, truly dull. Axes for splitting are generally not very sharp. Think about a few factors: How long is the log you're splitting? A long log splits harder. Does it have any knots? They get in the way. How heavy is your axe? A light axe will have a harder time getting the force necessary. Beyond that, it may just be a practice thing. Form can really matter. Give the axe its initial momentum with the back swing, then move with it as it comes down. Sometimes people unconsciously fight the axe as it comes down, and it'll slow it down.

Cheers for this, I have been researching "solo ad revolution" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Yanliana Feydalyn Rule - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some great things about it and my partner got amazing results with it.

What a clear and thorough job; I love all the details that you included which are perfect for a beginner without feeling condescending whilst still including information that someone with more experience will find informative. I also love how you started with all of the safety details. In this era of rampant forest fires, this information is so incredibly important and often neglected.
