    7-28-2024 I commute 30 miles a day minimum and this motor is crazy good. I love the sound dual chains make on bikes, such a nice harmonic. Some people have commented about the motor noise. Any 6K motor makes noise, the more power the more noise, But I assure you all you are going to hear is the dual chains. Unless you run belt drive.

    I’m thinking about getting one of these but I know nothing about bikes, what difference does the chain ring sizes make?

  • @MikeSuding-
    @MikeSuding-4 күн бұрын

    A smaller chain ring on the front makes it easier to pedal up hills. Or, you can get a bigger rear sprocket to make it easier. A larger chain ring up front conversely makes it harder to pedal (for flat or downhills).

    I recommend a short visit to a dermatologist and have them use a little liquid nitrogen where appropriate.

    I thought the X1 Pro Gen 4 would be good but the grip and full Throttle mounts are terrible, if throttle is too tight the throttle will stay in the open position and become stiff to the point you have to move it manually back to the closed position and it still moves forward and back. If it's loose enough the throttle has a spring to it, so it goes straight back from the open position to the closed in an instant but is worse becuase it moves forward and back for the entire throttle and grip more than if it was tightent. Such a stupid design and a waste of money for the grips

    I’m using the X-1 - Stealth (first generation), with the X6 Controller upgrade. Apart from some speedometer inaccuracy, it is working just fine. I am wary of updating firmware, in general, on the basis of, if it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it. My question… Are the firmware updates going to be glitch free with my Stealth Gen 1 - X6 controller combination?

    i also do, i just received a new x12 and my pas setting are feeling so damn wrong now, it for sure has to do with the base voltage, wich doesnt work with the wizard set up.

    This setting was referred to as "Gears" in the SW102 settings menu, BUT initial reports were that the scaling of power and torque settings was quirky. This may have been fixed by now.

    The lowest suggested battery voltage would be very useful. I was away from home with steep hills in the path, and the minimum voltage level shut off the motor. I probably set the minimum too high.

  • @cycmotor
    @cycmotor21 күн бұрын

    The minimum voltage will depend on your BMS as well as your cell type. It could be that your BMS was set high as well. Best to check both if possible.

    Is it too much to ask for a frame too? Id like to convert polygon siskiu t7 but i wonder how many ah i could fit on the downtube on 72v … id really love to be able to hit that 30ah ish to have really nice all rounder go everywhere commuter . However the full sudpension bikes have little space on the frame i desperately await someone who will think of this when making trail fs frame .

    This is a great video. Very informative. I really like how simple and clear this video is. It shows the elegant design/construction or the Photon. It all appears rugged, but it still can be repaired if necessary by the owner.

    What a cool solution for the small chainring! And a beautifully integrated system overall! Top notch engineering! And thanks for going in depth about the motor. I've put the Photon on my cargo Bullitt and it is absolutely wonderful, it's as if both the motor and the bike were buit for each oher! But I'd like to take a chance here to voice that I myself and dare I say many other would like to see more trust in the end user and more repair capability! Motor side bearings for example are not available as replacement part in your store, same with any more advanced part, like the torque sensor. You are miles better than your direct competitor Bafang, and yet I feel that if anything happens to the motor I will be left with an expensive paperweight - shipping for repairs is just not a viable solution from Europe to HongKong! Meanwhile one could requild the whole BBS01 with spare parts available. Perhaps I am naive but I do hope you will take into account user opinions such as my own! Thanks for the great presentations and product!

    Frankly, I'd love to purchase your product for instance Foton. However, the produce is still raw and I see people complain regarding the power issues and so on. Comparing your product and Bafang I'd prefer the second one due to its reliability. I'm not going to make a complaint from my side because I didn't use it. But the reviews are not in a good light. Maybe quality is good but it is what it is. Sorry guys, it's only my opinion. Whether you could persuade me that it is not true or myth or fiction then I'd love to make a purchase even in two times more than Bafang. Thanks beforehand

    If the motor heat is trapped inside, can't you just put thermal pads or thermal paste in between the outer shell and motor shell so that the heat can properly transfer to the outer shell and dissipate through the fins? Is CYC doing this going forward?

    I'd like to pull the trigger on a Photon but I have a lot of reliability concerns like: why are there not any reviews never than 11-12 months? Reviews in general are sparse for mountain applications. What about parts? It's a major PITA getting Bafang parts and they've been around longer than CYC - what happens when you need gears and hard to get parts?
