You are literally flipping the axle here (left to right). Glad you are doing it the right way, but this is how an axle flip is done, when done correctly. Good on you.

That makes absolutely no sense except to the ignorant. The axle has the bend because its a weight rated axle they use. Same one for smaller cargo trailers. Thats so they can carry weight. A popup will never ahve that much weight on it and the bend is not extreme enough to mess with drivabikity. Flip your acle, dont pay stupid money for a useless kit unless youre doing it on some type of cargo trailer. Ive flipped multiple popups and there are ZERO issues with it.

Additionally you're welding the perch you bought when you had 2 free. If the bend is that big of a deal, you could have cut the old perches off easy and just flipped them. Smh

Did you even watch the video? We did NOT flip the axle. We lifted it and put on larger tires to increase the clearance so we do not bottom out when taking it off-road.

Yes. There is an optional support bar that goes under the extender that has a pin in it. If you do not have the support bar you can flip it right into the back of the utv

So you've had it awhile now how do you like it? Do you think you need the support bar when you have the spare tire mount? Just going to be a storage bag back there plus the spare tire? Does it just flip over easily so you can close the tailgate? I would need to do that every time I load it in my 10 ft toy hauler. garage

Yes, I still really like it. I did have a bolt break and then drilled it deeper into the UTV, so now it is more stable. Flipps open really easy, the bar help things from bouncing around

This kit was definitely made to attach to the old spring perch with bolts. This kit was not meant to be welded. Dude threw away money here.

I've seen enough video on that bed extender. It tells you to use the longer screw provided. If you did not have an instruction guide available with the product, you should research it more. Instead of getting in the middle of a job and wonder why something is not working. Oh and by the way. That tire mount looks like a sore thumb. But if you like it that's fine. Be more prepared when you provide a video for others to learn from.

I was so glad to find your video of this bed extender. I ordered one and just got through installing it. A little pricey but it is solid!!! Very well made and fit snug with no issues. And I’m definitely going to get the spare tire carrier.

Nicely done. That's the right way to do it. I remember working at RV shops years ago and doing this process a lot! We didn't have the kits at the time but kept a stock of the spring perches and U-bolts.

It does not matter how new or old U-Bolts are. Most U-Bolts are rolled threads, not cut threads. They deform when torqued and are not designed to be torqued twice. This is a direct quoted from the mechanical engineers at Eaton Detroit Springs, "The threads of most U-bolts are rolled, not cut, and when the nuts are torqued to the manufacturer’s specs, the threads become somewhat deformed. More damage is done to the threads when the nuts are removed. When trying to re-use u-bolts, the depth of the threads are less than what they should be, therefore obtaining and maintaining the correct torque may be impossible." According to engineering standards and the manufactureers, U-bolts should not be reused no matter how new they are. I will admit, I did it before I knew better.

Incorrect an axle flip would be leaving the stock perches alone and flipping the axle literally. This is a spring over conversion kit. The cheaper way to do this is cut the old perches and weld new ones on if someone has a welder handy.

I’m thinking about doing a small lift and maybe a slightly larger tire in my 21ft camper. I can’t even get in and out of my driveway which is not even steep without dragging my jacks. I also have to have my load distribution stabilizer bars loose when pulling in and out. It’s a total pain in the ass. These manufacturers really need to take more time and consider real world driving conditions and pay more attention to those exit angles.

I think you ordered the kit for a 3 inch axle instead of the 2 3/8. I noticed it before you welded the bracket.

The kit that you got it not the one for your trailers axle tube diameter. Never turn any of the spring hanger bolts until the splines have been pushed out of the hanger. If you stripped the splines on the bolt you might want to put a tack weld on the head of the bolt.

You just did an axle flip. The bow in the axle always stays the same. You don’t actually flip it. Lift flip it’s all the same thing.
