Have you not heard of water babies
Badass
It's the original strain that was in the lake before the lake was commercially fished out
VERY 😎 What kind of fly did you catch it on?
We caught it on the same fly we use for our Peacock Bass operation, the "Space Invader"

How deep are the fish in June and what types of lines and flys are used, I’m very interested!
We teach all of that at our outings, flies, lines, depth, it is what the outing is about.
Thanks for another informative video!
Thank you for watching it! Hope it helped!

Heck yes….Pontoon boats are better than ladders
Hi Rob! I've read your article on the shifts with Pyramid and the Pilot Peak strain. (I'm also a part of your Facebook group.) Loved the video!Do you think that March and February will be as it was this year? I heard it was a lot slower than normal this year. (I've only been fishing Pyramid for a year now; I've done 5 trips with 3-4 days each.)
Hey buddy, great question. I just think that there are not nearly as many Summit Strain fish in the lake as in the old days and that drives the February-April shore fishing.
@@robanderson7444 Yeah, that makes sense! Also, it was my first time fishing the lake the week of Thanksgiving. I got my PB at 13.3 on the strip, along with a few 11s and a 10. . Do you think the Pilot strain fatten up for the winter, similar to other trout? Do the Summits do the same too? Was the last Oct-Nov as good as it's ever been, average, or worse than average on previous years?
Great video, Rob! That looks like fun!
thanks buddy, hope all is well.
I am Bryce Nielson. I was the fisheries biologist that worked for years recovering what I believed were the extinct form of lahontan cutthroat trout that existed in a remote stream on the Utah side of the Pilot Mountains. I always believed that if I could get them beck into Pyramid Lake they would explode . There is a long story that I won't go into to it but a characteristic of these fish is the ability to survive in warm water and were very pisciverous (fish eaters). I am glad that they are back in their original habitat .
Thank you Bryce for your dedication and perseverance.
Thats Awsome Bryce im from northern utah every tning your saying is correct thank you for sharing

How many rods did Hinkle break?
We should pull those statistics off 😅 this season broke a ton of rods!
i think he made it out all pieces intact. hahaha
I still have hundreds of hours of footage to work on and so much more shockingly good content! Mind blowing!
❤ what an incredible experience. congratulations my friend.
Couldn’t access the bucket list website for more information. Says it isn’t secure….????
Hey Amy! The info is on our Pyramid Lake website, here’s the link: www.pyramidlakeflyfishing.com/eastern-nevada-spring-float-tube-outing/ We’re moving our bucket list fly fishing website to a new server, that’s where the issues are coming from. Thanks for the heads-up!
had an issue with the site yesterday. its ok now
Love Duck Valley! I try and get down there once a Spring. Easy peasy drive from the Boise area. I need to branch out from Mountain View Lake one of the years. Hoping to go this year but won’t be able to make it until June. Your parties look epic. Maybe next year. Thanks!
Sounds great! Join us whenever you can!
Nice video Rob. I have an email into you for the May 17-19 dates. Been thinking about doing this one for wa while.
@@flyguy2021 thank you! I’ll check it in a few!
I started fishing Duck Valley in 1992. It was reliably the best fishing experience year after year mainly due to the outstanding job the Sho Pai tribe does with managing it. Most of the fish catching video in this post was from Mountain View which is in Idaho. The 2 other reservoirs available are Billy Shaw and Sheep Creek both located in Nevada. Billy Shaw is managed as a trophy lake and is fly fishing only, Mtn View and Sheep Creek don't have special regs. While all 3 reservoirs offer outstanding fishing, I typically had my best experiences at Sheep Creek. Sheep Creek also offers Smallmouth Bass although Rainbow trout are the most prevalent species. One thing you can almost always count on is for the wind to become a factor so be prepared and exercise caution because it can come up suddenly and quickly turn into a dangerous situation if you're in a small boat. You also need to be aware that to fish on the Duck Valley reservation you will need to purchase a tribal permit. Access to the reservation was closed to anyone outside of the tribe during the pandemic. I was fortunate enough to be able to go down and fish Sheep Creek reservoir right after they re opened when the access restriction for outsiders was removed. I literally had to stop fishing mid day because my arms were so tired from catching and releasing so many 2 to 5 pound fish one right after another.
hey buddy, I am not sure I see your email? or maybe i just dont recognize it? @@flyguy2021
What a Great Trip Rob ! You ALL at Bucket List do an Awesome Job Sir ! And Thank You Karim & Rob for that video as well 😉 👍
Thank you, Jeff!
Can you arrange draft boat for fly fishing?
Such a exciting fly fishing video! River Plate Outfitters?
Thank you! However this is a Bucket List Fly Fishing exclusive operation on what now is a fly fishing only river. We teamed up with the best outfitter in Brazil to make it happen and after 5 years of hard work that’s what it looks like 🙏
@@bucketlistflyfishing5475OMG, fly fishing only? That's great!! SO it's quantity fishery?
@@user-kz5tx5ef4h both quantity and quality. We catch over a hundred fish a day per boat with 2 anglers in each boat and in the last season over a dozen 20+ lbs fis were caught. In average more than 60 fish over 10 pounds per week between 8 anglers
@@bucketlistflyfishing5475 what’s your fishing season? We have been to Amazon once, eager to go back again?
@@user-kz5tx5ef4h it’s January and February, we have a great short season and we keep that river taken care of the rest of the year
best video for fishing!!!! top
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just fished in mid Janruary and it was amazing, landed 3 and missed two including a GIANT, all on the strip/streamer. Looking forward to Feb
Do you use 7-8wt rods? Single hand or Spey?
it depends on what time of year and the technique but both
What advantage does the Ladder have over a boat in the spring? Just curious. Thanks.
The advantages in the spring the fish around March April are all on the shores literally right on the shore you will not be able to hit these fish with a boat
thanks for clearing that up for me. Good luck out there!
Good luck getting in shallow with a boat when they are coming in toward shore. I believe the boats help most when they are down deep
Haven’t caught one yet. But soon. Nice job on the info video
What is the number one bait you recommend to catch these fish
No bait is allowed at this lake
What do you recommend to catch Them with
@@leofulford4408flies
NO bait allowed man, on the lake its single hook artificial flies or lures
@@leofulford4408 streamers, wooly buggers etc. Look for the baitfish;
This guys a complete jackwagon. I can’t Believe people pay this guy to learn how to watch a bobber
Why do you say that?
Thanks. Excellent information
Great work
