Scoobytopia

Scoobytopia

Welcome to Scoobytopia, USA! I'm Nate, a 20-something who is not a certified Scooby-Doo expert or historian but simply a regular fan, and I make this series where I discuss that franchise. You might know me as the "pretentious sensitive woke gayer ben shapiro soundalike" as well. Here, I cover movies, episodes and other Scooby media I love. Sometimes with a critical analysis, sometimes just saying words. Mainly I'll just be tweeting somewhere.

This is NOT content made for kids. I curse and talk about adult subject matter, covering media from an adult perspective with no intent for younger eyes and ears.

This is my number one favorite scooby doo movie of all times. The other scooby doo movies I love are scooby doo and the cyber chase, aloha scooby doo, scooby doo pirates ahoy, scooby doo stage fright, scooby doo shaggy's showdown, scooby doo legend of the phantosaur, scooby doo wrestlemania mystery and big top scooby doo.

This movie is cool. I love Pirate history and folklore and I have some of those Ology books! (Ghostology, Illusionology, Oceanology, Vampireology, Dragonology, Mythology and I have recently read Pirateology last week! Though I'm on the hunt for Egyptology now.) :)

Fun fact- despite claims that more ships and planes have gone down in the triangle than anywhere else on earth, this isnt true and in fact it has the same death rate as all the other areas that see a similar amount of sea and air traffic The fact is the bermuda triangle is one of The Most Traveled Through Places On The Planet So its number of disappearances and deaths are actually in line with every other place with a similar history of high travel Its not some grand mystery Its not methane pockets in the water or anything like that Sometimes ships and planes just crash.

You had a neutral reaction to this show? Look... Most of the time I would agree that people can like whatever they want, but Velma is so close to objectively offensive that it isn't even definitely legal in many countries *and some US States.* This show is on the raw edge of getting taken to court for its depictions of minors and the only thing that saves it is, well, it simply isn't popular enough to be worth fighting it out in a courtroom. The controversy over Velma's quality significantly reduced the controversy this show would have generated over its legality; and that is just the tip of the iceberg. If you can get past the incessant and blatant racism, sexism, and ageism, if you can abide the poor comedy, the disgusting characters, and the lack of Scooby in a Scooby-Do show - if you can handle all of that - what you are left with is... Well, again, it is as close to objectively bad as you can get. Velma's investigations in both season one and two are hardly even investigations! In both seasons, she falsely accuses an innocent person leading to their physical endangerment (remember, Fred was literally shot, *twice,* once in each knee, in his own bedroom, after Velma literally broke into his house). In both seasons, she gathers "clues" not through any of her own merits or investigative insight, but through luck, thuggery, and contrivance. And below even the quality of the mystery solving - which is arguably the core of the franchise - the writing quality is actually objectively poor. The obvious example is how Velma was hypnotized to hallucinate, but people snap around Velma *in the show* and that should have broken her out of her hallucination. Less obvious is how Velma talks about catching Fred's mom as a serial killer when, first, it was Norville who defeated her, and second, Fred's mother *was not a serial killer* because all of the victims turned out to actually be alive. Having a neutral opinion about this show brings both your character and your taste into question.

I've already had to make a video addressing that l've been called a horrible person and told to die every day for a straight month over this and quit KZread for a while, I really don't need this to restart. Take your hatred in your heart somewhere else. I'm done being nice to people that are going to be anything but human after all that.

That particular photo of Jim Krieg makes him look very arrogant, narcissist, and stuck up...which he probably is, since he didn't seem to care about what us fans really wanted, and basically gave us the finger with 13th Ghost and Return to Zombie Island.

I would legit eat pizza like scooby here. I would poke my finger through the middle and eat one of those small microwave sized pizza's that costed $1 or so. Simpler times. And this is one of the scarier episodes for me. One of my favorites.

Again, welcome back! Kudos to you for putting in the effort for such a long video! I honestly don't get the hate for the retro films either. They certainly are guilty of cultural appropriation, but they're not the only ones so it's odd that they get the extra "special" attention. This was definitely a favorite of mine as a child; it was one of the movies my older sister and I would watch for Saturday movie nights. I was so excited to see the Hex Girls again (boo Luna getting whitewashed for the _What's New_ animation style). I love the comments pointing out the absurd implausibilities behind Wildwind's plot. I'd like to add that Dark Skull's full of bullshit when he says, "We didn't _really_ kidnap anybody." Yeah, sir, you did. Just because you gave them a vacation that they unrealistically accepted while also ditching an important competition doesn't negate the fact that you snatched them from onstage _or_ the fact that you abandoned the Hex Girls without food or water in the middle of the outback.

Welcome back! So happy that you're still making new content! This episode is definitely a weird one. During one of the last re-watches I did of this, I found it strange how specific the professor was with how far the alleged future the machine travelled. It wasn't just 5,000 years; it was 5,00*7* (he said, "Five thousand und seven!").

Cory was pressed to death not an execution method, but as a torture to get him to confess to being a witch. He refused to confess knowing that he would be executed as a witch and his sons would not be able to inherit his land, but dying without confessing his sons would get his land.

Yes, it always feels almost excruciating to read his story up to the end and imagine what it must have been like after what he had already gone through up to that point alone. Such a terrible death made more emotional by his need to accept it for them.

Here in the UK I remember catching this episode on TV a lot more than most episodes, and honestly I remember it pretty fondly. The premise with the time machine and a creature from the future I think really made it stand out to me, the design of the creature I found pretty memorable, and the cruise ship setting I liked. That's about all I can say really, great job covering it!
