  Ahh, SBRJ, Santos Dumont. Beautiful Airport. Nice landing on its 4100 feet 02/20 runway. Nice view of Copacabana beach as well. It's been a while since last time there.

  You forgot to check the apu fire low agent check. And after you put battery on you should always check efis emergency cooling fan, 3 green lights landing gear, standby fwc and vhf 1

  Lived there thru the 60's. Kindergarten thru 8th grade at Our Lady of Mercy school. First time I heard that song "Leaving on a jet plane" I was on my way to the airport, leaving. Leaving Rio broke my heart.

  I would say no. Depends on what you consider beautiful. While I do enjoy that view... I don't prefer buildings/boats/etc. I would prefer nature. So no, this is not the most beautiful approach :), for me.

  Rio is NOT a beautiful city. But It is an interesting one with very interesting culture and architecture thats for sure !

  Are there still many international companies flying to Rio ? Sadly Swissair used to fly there from GVA with DC-10 but that was about 30 years ago. They don't fly here anymore since a long time, I wonder why.
